Depends on district, Asian side is generally better for living, now the third metro line there is being build so getting over to European side is no issue anymore either.
Using Marmaray is at least double as fast as with car, with the third tunnel it will be even faster.

I can't enjoy Istanbul during the daytime. (crowded, traffic, loud...)

For me Istanbul only in the evening/ at night.

My uncle lived in Turkey back like in the 80s and 90s and I saw some of the pictures he took over there a lot of changes I mean there was one pic in Istanbul that had a donkey cart or sorts I am guessing those are gone from Turkish streets for a while now

I originally live in konya.I have been in istanbul for one week trip before 24 june elections.Only thing i can say is Istanbul is really the most beautiful city of turkey.Very different cultures are together.So much historical things.Traveling to other coast of bosporus with vapur etc.people are nicer.

When i came back to my own city i felt like my city is a village.

and the kebabs too plus baklava even many Greeks I know who have visited Istanbul said the Turks make the best Baklava
