The recent Modi visit to Israel seems to have created quite a stir in Israel. Apart from extending the warmest of welcomes at a government and non-government levels, the Israelis seem genuinely moved. They have set themselves huge expectations in terms of military and economic cooperation.
Kudos to India (Modi, but not just Modi but some of his predecessors as well) in so successfully and artfully balancing and positioning India amidst the treacherous rift between Sunnis and the Shia countries of the middle-east, and between Israel and Palestine. Just a testament to how successful one can be when driven by a set of honest and humanist principles.
