ISRAELI FIRM INKS $630 MILLION DEAL WITH INDIAN NAVY

barak 8 not good for ac 2 mach only 70 km and 16 km atitude not good inuagh
You have no idea how an AA missile works do you?
The missile intercepts it's target from it's calculated flight path by using 2 way data link from the shipborne radar and onboard radar it doesn't follow it's target to shoot it down.
so speed/ altitude of target does not matter. If something comes inside the range it will be shot down.

AI signed largest defense contract in Israel’s defense industry’s history after signing a $1.6 billion mega-contract with the Indian Army in April.

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has signed a $630 million deal with the Indian state-owned aerospace and defense company Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) to provide the Indian army with the naval version of the aerial defense system Barak 8 for four Navy ships

Prior to signing the contract, which also includes the procurement of radar, missiles, and a command and control board for the system, India’s Western Naval Command successfully conducted a trial firing of MR-SAM from the INS Kochi as part of operational interception trial and demonstrating again the System's operational capabilities in a representative scenario with genuine target

The MRSAM, jointly developed by IAI and India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and manufactured by Hyderabad-based Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), “successfully tracked and intercepted a low-flying high-speed target at enhanced range with pin-point accuracy,” the New Indian Express newsite quoted an official as stating last week.

According to IAI, the MFSTAR radar aboard the Indian naval ship identified the airborne threat and tracked it over its flying course. During its flight the missile engaged the target and using its homing system, aligned its course to navigated itself towards the target which it hit and destroyed.

In April IAI announced that it had been awarded the largest defense contract in Israel’s defense industry’s history after signing a $1.6 billion mega-contract signed with the Indian Army for the medium-range surface-to-air missile (MRSAM) advanced air and missile defense systems as well as additional long-range surface-to-air missile (LRSAM) air and missile defense systems for Indian aircraft carriers.

"The new contract adds to other deals signed in the last decade by IAI with India's defense forces, reinforcing IAI's global leadership position in air and missile defense systems,” Joseph Weiss, IAI president and CEO, said in a statement.

“The inclusion of Indian governmental company BEL for the first time, is a step up in our relationship with the Indian industry as part of the 'Make in India' policy. This unique project represents the close collaboration between India's DRDO, IAI and the defense forces of both countries. We will proceed to implementing it with joint efforts,” he added.

IAI has been working with the Indian defense industries and armed forces, such as the Coast Guard, Navy, Air Force and Army, for the past 25 years as part of strategic collaboration based on the transfer of technology to benefit Indians as part of New Dehli’s ‘Made in India’ policy.

Boaz Levi, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Systems, Missiles & Space Group added that IAI "takes pride, along with our partners in India, in the great results of the trial conducted last week, which reestablishes the System's reliability and quality as well as its advanced technological capabilities. IAI is in an accelerated process to supply the various air and missile defense systems to the client. We will continue to support our partners in India in advancing the industry and security of both countries."

India has become one of Israel’s largest buyer of military hardware with annual defense deals worth over $1 billion. Indian Prime Minister Narenda Modi is expected to undertake a historic first visit to Jerusalem in early July to highlight the growing bilateral relationship between the two countries. According to Indian reports additional arms deals with Israel’s military industries are expected to be announced while he’s in Israel.

Interesting, Israel might break into the top 5 largest weapons exporters in the world this year. They have been 7th for sometime now. Plus they are the only developed/democratic(real) country in the middle East. For such a small country it's indeed a great achievement. Other middle Eastern/Muslim Countries should follow the Israeli example.

For the past 20 years? Why not you start from the 90s, what a joker, China
 i Actually seeing this so called su*ker Syndrome from Chinese media for the last 6 months regarding India... India is doing this,, India can;t do that... warnings:rofl::rofl: or Just they're paranoid:D

Who said nothing else?? Chinese are importing lots of other weapon parts from Russia as well... Why do you think your imports are at 30 Billion !!!

it Irony to see Chinese Importing from Russia while trying to convince others of having a strong indigenous base.
Go and read the reports of Chinese weapon imports from 2000 you'll know how much china has been importing

Wow, you compare imports for the past 15 years? No wonder you get 30 Billion. Let us compare for the past 5 years and look at the reduction in Chinese arms import compared to India. Chinese MIL only became competitive in the last 5 years when the R&D results start emerging after 10+ years of development.

2010 - 2016 China = 8 billion
2010 - 2016 India = 24 billion

2010 - 2016 China Export = 11 billion
2010 - 2016 India Export = 141 million

You get it genius, Chinese had been importing less and exporting more for the past 5 years, while India for the initial 10 years of the past 15 years didn't have money to buy weapons, but if you compare the statistics for the past 5 years, you can see that India is a 23 billion net importer compared to China 3 billion net exporter.

:lol: We didn't claim to have complete dependency on In house products did we!!!
R&D in what??? how to copy the blue print!!
After Claiming maturity of your local production China Imported SAMs, JETs, Engines and other spare parts talks about the maturity:lol:

Yes, it includes copying, stealing, begging, borrowing, absorbing, improving and innovating, had been doing it for the past 20 years and look at where it got us today.

If you check SIPRI database, the only items Chinese are buying for the last 5 years are engines, S-400 and SU-35. Our weakness is in engines until WS-10A/B matures, while S-400 is for reverse engineering since it's the best SAM in the world, and SU-35 is for the thrust vectoring tech. There is really nothing much the Russians can offer us now, the Russians are selling SU-35 knowing full well we will reverse their engines, hence the minimum order quantity of 2 dozen jets to compensate the engine being reversed.

My advise for you guys is don't gloat and jump over imports, even if China managed to buy the best Israeli weapons, I would never be proud, but I will feel helpless that we need to buy Israeli weapons. Until today Chinese are never proud of the S-400, in their hearts they are waiting to reverse and compare the best Russian missiles to our own indigenous weapons. I believe, S-400 is not just a technology source but also a technology comparator.

if we will break the 7.5 bilion dollar record and export more than 8 bilion dollars it will be good

I am proud of copying and learning and absorbing and innovating. You need a base to start innovating, it doesn't get downloaded into your brain from heaven as most Indians assume it to be. Ex: the US/Russian capture of German scientist after WWII or the migration of Einstein to the States. If you do not copy at least the most mainstream technology, you would have to start from zero and that would take China decades. Until we reach a level where you can no longer copy, innovation is the only way forward, this is what we see happening to Chinese weapons now.

Importing is a disgrace and until today I can never forget the disgrace of trying to buy Israeli Phalcon. We should be better than Israel and capture the Israel export market, until that day happens, China is still weak. I foresee this will take another 10 years.

We are under arms embargo by the US. After the fall of Soviet Union, the only large 'Communist' country left was China, so the CIA engineered the Tiananmen Square incident to trigger the collapse of the Communist Party of China. At that time, China didn't have proper crowd control equipment and standards, so the Army massacred those dumbfck who thought they were fighting for democracy, not realizing they were American pawns. After that incident, US started an arms embargo which lasted until today and forced China to become self reliant.

Yes Israel is defence industry is really thriving , same with its economy, scientific sector, high tech manufacturing, innovation, skilled educated workforce etc.
Seems living in a hostile environment has been a boon for Israel. Since, I believe without the existential threat from Muslim countries Israel won't be producing as much cutting edge weapons and having an impressive defence industry like it has today.
As they say: necessity is the mother of all inventions(well, if you have the talent, skills and knowledge as well) :)
