Israel’s Latest Assault on Gaza: The Lie of Who Started It

You see, Israeli government is not UPA government.

They don't really appreciate getting attacked by rockets that causes deaths of their civilians.

Anyone else finding it weird that the tireless defenders of Israel haven't yet stopped by to make their usual spin?

Anyway, a number of articles, apart from that of the thread, are picking up on the truth -- that it was Israel who first started the war by killing Gazans with no provocation.

"Terror in Gaza", by Belén Fernandez.

"Obama's kill list policy compels US support for Israeli attacks on Gaza", by Glenn Greenwald.

"Bodies for Ballots", by Yousef Munayyer.

This interview with an Israeli peace activist -- "Long-term peace was within reach before Israeli attack" -- about how Israel's assassination of Ahmen Jabari was calculated to re-ignite conflict.

This statement by Noam Chomsky and other linguists, "Who's doing the killing in Gaza?".

This John Mearsheimer article, which explains Israel's war on Gaza, not as "self-defense", but as a manifestation of decades-old doctrine of Israel of trying to make Palestinians submit to Israel's policies of apartheid and colonization by means of brute force.

Their love of Zionist aggression and oppression knows no boundaries. Ironically, these same people when asked will tell you how evil Nazis were. There is one thing we have to admit, the incredible "achievement" of Western /Zionist propaganda. Absolutely incredible. I have always believed that media propaganda is much more dangerous than thermonuclear weapons.

But even when this is the truth behind the current escalation of hostilities in Gaza, I must remain of the opinion that one side in the NATO+Israel+Friends vs Muslims conflict must play the military underdog and refrain from using military means against the stronger side at all!

You do not know how the world works. By giving up resistence, Palestinians will only increase the gap in power between them and Israel. And the larger this gap, the more willing Israel will be to abuse them -- by attacking them, by stepping up the colonization of their lands, by expelling them from the borders of historic Palestine, etc. This is how the world works, specially when it comes to international relations: the stronger exploits the weak. And the greater the power differential, the more abused will the less powerful.

Resistence is there because non-violence doesn't work. How do you think the First Intifada started out? By protesting and marching. It turned violent because not even peaceful marches and civil non-obedience Israel could accept. Israel thus repressed the protests violently. Yitzhak Rabbin, now seen as a dove, famously ordered the army to disperse the Palestinian protests by beating on Palestinians and breaking their bones. Only after did resistence become violent, and Israel had to deal with Hamas's, and others', suicide bombers. And it was the success of violent resistence that led Israel to consider, for the first time, that occupying Palestine isn't worth it, that a Palestinian state should be created. Hence the Oslo accords.

Even today Israel plays dirty to break peaceful protests and imprison its leaders.

Another thing he probably doesn't know is the fact that Israel created Hamas (literally). And more importantly, the fact that Israel has never wanted a Palestinian state, which is the reason for all this violence and oppression.

:woot: dude you never cease to entertain. what I get the most laugh out of ?- is how you keep hating on the west, calling it a tyrant , shrilling all these conspiracies against it and Israel etc. but then go live in the bosom of the west, living off it's welfare. :D
