Surprise! As long as they follow the terms of Mandate Law, Jewish settlements in E. Jerusalem, etc. are not illegal. Under Article 80 of the U.N. Charter the U.N.'s declarations regarding their legality are not even legally binding - not unless the Israeli gov't agrees.
