Israel Offered Aid to Pakistan​

Israeli officials said Tuesday that they had offered assistance to Pakistan, which is experiencing record-breaking floods that have uprooted tens of thousands of people. Officials said they have not received an answer from Pakistan on whether or not the aid should be forwarded.

Thats a great gesture from them. kudos to Israel that they have kept all the hatred aside and have offered help to some one who actually was involved in war with them. Even as enemies one should fight with dignity and should not score cheap shots. now the onus is on the gov of pakistan.

While a great gesture it may be, we know little of the terms offered to Pakistan. These are just as important in sounding out whether these are genuine offers or not.

or the sanity can prevail and it may become the start of diplomatic relations. And may be in future Pakistan can play a very high diplomatic peaceful role to solve the Palestine conflict when rest nations not all behave like jackass

But accepting Israel is a direct proportion to the loss of Vote bank. PPP is/was the most popular party in Pakistan but after Mr Asif Ali Zardari's appointment to the office PPP lost a major chunk of its vote bank and accepting Israel (which will be opposed by the majority in Pakistan) is like "nail on the coffin"

PPP is not stupid to ever accept Israel and reduce its vote bank

thats what i am talking about the people need to understand. they cant do anything constructive till they remain ostrich with their head in sand. israel is not going to go anywhere. what maximum pakistan can do is to make one more enemy around itself for objectives which now cannot be accomplished with force (read nuclear angle). the only solution viable is diplomatic. And how much the world or the Islamic community is concerned for Palestine everyone knows that. Pakistan once stable can very well bring down Israel on table for talks. and this would be something which would be supported even by India owing to the pressure it will have from its own muslim populace.

Bhai, you guys have already accepted Israel. Look at a Pakistani passport. It will have something about it needing special consideration for Israel or something like that (heard it form the members here, never seen it myself). So if an official document like a passport can recognise the state of Israel, isn't it almost like Pakistan recognising it?

Secondly, they are offering aid to a nation which has even refused to recognise them. This can also be seen as a small step in the long road to peace. they are offering their hand. you can either shake it, or smack it aside.

The fact is, people on the ground need help. A starving family won't care if their aid comes from China, Iran, India or Israel. Dire emergencies like this is not the time to play petty politics. Ask yourself, who wins if the aid is refused? some politicians in Pakistan. And who loses? the flood victims.

Hope a wise decision is made.

Bhai, you guys have already accepted Israel. Look at a Pakistani passport. It will have something about it needing special consideration for Israel or something like that (heard it form the members here, never seen it myself).

Actually it lists a number of countries the document is valid for EXCEPT for Israel (since officially the state of Israel is not RECOGNIZED).

Personally i think Pakistan should recognize the state of Israel.

Highly doubt that, considering the fact that if you work for a neutral INGO like CARE, CWS OXFAM etc... They have to provide you with visa's.

I saw a few Indian doctor's in 2005, hope it happens again.
