Bangladesh: Hasina government is keen to prevent provocative comments in 'World Ijtema'​

Bangladesh: World Ijtema is organized in Tongi, Bangladesh. The administration of Bangladesh is keen to prevent any religious divisive speech there.​

Dhaka:World Ijtema, the second largest religious gathering of Muslims, is going to be held in Tongi, near Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. This religious conference has been organized on January 13. The Bangladesh government is strict to ensure that no violent speech is raised in the various religious speeches of this conference. Apart from this, Bangladesh Islamic Foundation has also been requested not to give divisive speech in any religious and Ijtema.

Islamic Foundation is also doing awareness campaigns for the successful implementation of World Ijtema. On Tuesday, January 10, the foundation officially made this call on behalf of the government. A press release from the Islamic Foundation, the highest organization for the control of Islamic rituals in Bangladesh, said, "For the smooth and successful implementation of Tongir Biswa Ijtema, it is urged to avoid provocative speech on the mosque microphone before and after the Friday pre-khutba and Waqtiya prayers."

The notification also said, "Managing Committees of all mosques in Bangladesh, respected imams, khatibs, officials of the Islamic Foundation, teachers and workers are specially requested to take necessary measures to regularly disseminate awareness talks on this matter." According to the foundation, the law and order situation must be kept intact to make this religious conference a success. Incidentally, the first phase of the conference will be held on January 13-15 and the second phase on January 20-22 in Tongi, Bangladesh. It should be noted that after the Hajj held in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the World Ijtema on the banks of the Tongi Turag River in Bangladesh is the second largest religious gathering in the world. About 40 to 50 lakh people from different countries of the world participated in this rally. Due to the participation of additional people, Bangladesh has been organizing this World Ijtema in two phases for the past few years.

Bangladesh: বাংলাদেশের টঙ্গিতে বিশ্ব ইজতেমার আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। সেখানে কোনও ধর্মীয় বিভাজনমূলক কোনও বক্তব্য রুখতে তৎপর বাংলাদেশের প্রশাসন।​

ঢাকা: বাংলাদেশের (Bangladesh) রাজধানী ঢাকার (Dhaka) অদূরে টঙ্গিতে অনুষ্ঠিত হতে চলেছে মুসলিমদের দ্বিতীয় বৃহত্তম ধর্মীয় সমাবেশ বিশ্ব ইজতেমা। আগামী ১৩ জানুয়ারি এই ধর্মীয় সম্মেলনের আয়োজন করা হয়েছে। এই সম্মেলনের বিভিন্ন ধর্মীয় বক্তৃতায় যাতে কোনও হিংসাত্মক বক্তব্য উঠে না আসে তার জন্য কড়া বাংলাদেশ সরকার। এর পাশাপাশি বাংলাদেশ ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনও কোনও ধর্মীয় ও ইজতেমায় বিভাজনমূলক বক্তব্য না দেওয়ার আবেদন জানানো হয়েছে।

বিশ্ব ইজতেমা সফলভাবে বাস্তবায়নের লক্ষ্যে সচেতনতামূলকও প্রচার করছে ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশন। মঙ্গলবার ১০ জানুয়ারি ফাউন্ডেশনের পক্ষ থেকে আনুষ্ঠানিক ভাবে সরকারের হয়ে এই আহ্বান জানানো হয়েছে। বাংলাদেশে ইসলামিক রীতি নিয়ন্ত্রণের সর্বোচ্চ সংস্থা ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনের এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়েছে, “টঙ্গির বিশ্ব ইজতেমা সুষ্ঠু এবং সফলভাবে বাস্তবায়নের লক্ষ্যে জুমার প্রাক-খুতবায় ও ওয়াক্তিয়া নামাজের আগে ও পরে মসজিদের মাইকে উস্কানিমূলক বক্তব্য পরিহার করার আহ্বান জানানো হচ্ছে।”

বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে আরও বলা হয়েছে,”বাংলাদেশের সব মসজিদ পরিচালনা কমিটি, সম্মানিত ইমাম, খতিব, ইসলামিক ফাউন্ডেশনের কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ, শিক্ষক ও কর্মীদের এ বিষয়ে সচেতনতামূলক বক্তব্য নিয়মিত প্রচারের প্রয়োজনীয় ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের জন্য বিশেষভাবে অনুরোধ করা হচ্ছে।” ফাউন্ডেশনের পক্ষ থেকে বলা হয়েছে, এই ধর্মীয় সম্মেলন সফল করতে আইন-শৃঙ্খলা পরিস্থিতি অক্ষুণ্ণ রাখতে হবে। প্রসঙ্গত, বাংলাদেশের টঙ্গিতে আগামী ১৩-১৫ জানুয়ারি প্রথম পর্ব এবং ২০-২২ জানুয়ারি দ্বিতীয় পর্বের সম্মেলন অনুষ্ঠিত হবে। উল্লেখ্য, সৌদি আরবের মক্কায় অনুষ্ঠিত হজের পর বাংলাদেশের টঙ্গি তুরাগ নদীর তীরে বিশ্ব ইজতেমা বিশ্বের দ্বিতীয় বৃহত্তম ধর্মীয় জমায়েত। এই সমাবেশে প্রায় ৪০ থেকে ৫০ লক্ষ মানুষ বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশ থেকে অংশ নেন। অতিরিক্ত মানুষের অংশগ্রহণের ফলে গত কয়েক বছর ধরে দুটি পর্বে এই বিশ্ব ইজতেমার আয়োজন করছে বাংলাদেশ।

It should no longer be a surprise that Indian Hindutva media now routinely passes judgments (and propaganda) on a totally non-extremist event for the majority religion of their neighbor country Bangladesh (Islam), which should not be any of their business.

This also legitimizes (nay further encourages) the Bangladeshi media's rights to pass judgments on and highlighting religious extremism in India.
