That may or may not be so. But your point is irrelevant. The point is that whatever your religious views are, whether for or against hijab, whatever your reading of religious texts, whatever your interpretation and understanding of the word of god, you have zero authority and right to impose it on anybody else. They are for you to have and enjoy without coercion from anybody else. And the same right applies everybody else.

And that is what is fundamentally evil about the ideologies like that of the Islamic Republic. Because they presume to be in possession of the authoritative and 'true' version of Islam, and therefore in a position to compel everybody to follow their views.

Ideologies have no material existence of their own. They've been thought up by humans. They live in the minds of individuals. Ideas and thoughts are logical devices that we use to navigate our world. They are tools whose only value is in their utility. When you realize that and an idea or a set of related ideas are bad/useless/harmful, you simply discard them and replace them with better ones. You don't say "...well, I had a really awful idea and I paid a heavy price for it. But I'm gonna stick by it and keep defending it. Because it has the right to exist..."

But the same argument is not valid for humans. They have existence equal to and independent of everybody else. And their right to life is not a mere function of usefulness to some other entity. Humans are also not inherently good or bad. But they are capable of both, relative to a given situation. And for these reasons, we generally don't discard humans. But we try to change their mind.

So I ask you. What needs to change here, the physical bodies (users) or the thought process (ideology)?

It seems like you're the one who's not properly reading other people's comments. I've repeatedly said that I support the right of any woman who would willingly choose to wear the hejab. But for the same reason it would be abusive and barbaric to force it on those who wouldn't want to wear it. You don't get to decide other people's religious beliefs.

It's none of your damn business. You don't have the right to decide other people's level of religiosity. With hejab, without hejab, with chador, without chador, with manteau, without manteau, it's not up to you! When are you gonna get this through you head? You're not their boss. They're not your things. You don't own them. You don't get to decide for them.

Like the girl said, god has created us free and given us freedom to choose. Everyone has to choose for themselves.

And drop the sarcasm while you're at it. It's not making any sense.
