IS Expels Thousands In East Syria

BEIRUT, July 6, (Agencies): The jihadist Islamic State group has expelled more than 30,000 people from their homes in the eastern Syrian town of Shuheil, a monitoring group said on Sunday. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said IS had “forced out” some 30,000 residents after seizing Shuheil on Thursday from al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Nusra Front. Another 30,000 residents have been forced from their homes in the towns of Khosham and Tabia Jazeera, also in eastern Deir Ezzor province, the Britain-based NGO said. “Some 30,000 residents of the town of Shuheil, the former stronghold of Al-Nusra Front, have been forced out by the Islamic State,” the group said. Though both IS and Al-Nusra share a jihadist ideology, the two groups have regularly clashed, with Al-Nusra joining a coalition of armed opposition groups fighting IS.

IS has seized large swathes of territory in Syria and neighbouring Iraq, declaring the land it holds to be an Islamic “caliphate”, and its leader the ruler of all Muslims. The Observatory said IS had prevented some 30,000 people from returning to their homes in two other towns in Deir Ezzor, Khosham and Tabia Jazeera, which it captured in late June. On a Facebook page, activists from Shuheil said IS had ordered all residents to leave, and entered in armoured cars and tanks “because of their fear and cowardice”. A video distributed by activists on YouTube purportedly shows mediators announcing the terms of the expulsion, saying residents are required to hand over weapons and remain out of Shuhail “until (IS) feels it is safe”.

Activists said residents feared IS fighters planned to loot their homes, and the Observatory said the large displacement had left thousands sleeping in the open, with food and water shortages. Elsewhere in the region, the group said negotiations were under way over the fate of some 83,000 people living in three towns in Deir Ezzor after IS advances in the surrounding area.

I read in the Guardian that Caliph Ibrahim traces his roots to the Prophet Mohammad. And that would make him a legit caliph to not only a few Muslims. True?

Al-Baghdadi is not from the ancient and noble Quraysh. He is part of another clan/tribe in Samarra. It's just to get legitimacy. It is an insult towards us members of the Quraysh.

He is from the Al-Bu' Badri tribe. His father was one of the sheikh's of that tribe.

The noble Hashemite clans of Samarra have already renounced any kinship to that lunatic and outcast publicly and in written form I have been told.

"In Iraq, tracing your ancestry back to the prophet is an honour that can only be claimed by someone whose bloodline actually goes back to the prophet, peace be upon him, which is why we find al-Qaeda leaders hiding behind this lineage to win approval," he said.

"As for al-Baghdadi, he hails from a modest family who never claimed to have roots in the prophet's family," al-Jubury said. "He is trying to add religious and spiritual legitimacy to his position and as genealogists we have not come across anything that substantiates this claim."

"Someone like al-Baghdadi who failed in his relations with other armed groups cannot be accepted by the tribes of Iraq and Syria," al-Jubury added.

ISIL's self-glorified Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi lacks legitimacy: analysts | Al-Shorfa

So in short the answer is no.

Just like Abu Abdullah al-Rashid al-Baghdadi before him who claimed the same thing.

Abu Abdullah al-Rashid al-Baghdadi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Of course you can never know with certainty but nothing points to this being the case.
None of those two names are their real names.

Those are their real names:

Ibrahim Awwad Ibrahim Ali al-Badri al-Samarrai = Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi

Hamid Dawud Mohamed Khalil al Zawi = Abu Abdullah al-Rashid al-Baghdadi

Well Nusra for one, have used almost the same methodology to gain territory in Syria - they should look in their own collar first.

HT for decades have pushed for a Khilafat, anyhow and anywhere. I have no doubt that if they had a piece of the pie here, the sharia rulings would have quietly been put aside.

My friend, i've experienced many such groups in my life (HT, Al Muhajroun, JI) one thing you should know about most of them is that their ends always justify their means.

i agree with all you have said. Thank you for putting it in clear terms for everyone to understand. muhajiroon is the same religious ideology as ISIS.(salafism)

HT and JI share some parts of that religious ideology (through ikhwanism/salafism ) but are not as extremist but modernists.

U.S. Trained ISIS at Secret Jordan Base
By Aaron Klein
Global Research, June 18, 2014
WND 17 June 2014

JERUSALEM – Members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIS, were trained in 2012 by U.S. instructors working at a secret base in Jordan, according to informed Jordanian officials.

The officials said dozens of ISIS members were trained at the time as part of covert aid to the insurgents targeting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in Syria. The officials said the training was not meant to be used for any future campaign in Iraq.

The Jordanian officials said all ISIS members who received U.S. training to fight in Syria were first vetted for any links to extremist groups like al-Qaida.
In February 2012, WND was first to report the U.S., Turkey and Jordan were running a training base for the Syrian rebels in the Jordanian town of Safawi in the country’s northern desert region.

That report has since been corroborated by numerous other media accounts.

Last March, the German weekly Der Spiegel reported Americans were training Syrian rebels in Jordan.

Quoting what it said were training participants and organizers, Der Spiegel reported it was not clear whether the Americans worked for private firms or were with the U.S. Army, but the magazine said some organizers wore uniforms. The training in Jordan reportedly focused on use of anti-tank weaponry.
The German magazine reported some 200 men received the training over the previous three months amid U.S. plans to train a total of 1,200 members of the Free Syrian Army in two camps in the south and the east of Jordan.

Britain’s Guardian newspaper also reported last March that U.S. trainers were aiding Syrian rebels in Jordan along with British and French instructors.

Reuters reported a spokesman for the U.S. Defense Department declined immediate comment on the German magazine’s report. The French foreign ministry and Britain’s foreign and defense ministries also would not comment to Reuters.

The Jordanian officials spoke to WND amid concern the sectarian violence in Iraq will spill over into their own country as well as into Syria.

ISIS previously posted a video on YouTube threatening to move on Jordan and “slaughter” King Abdullah, whom they view as an enemy of Islam.

WND reported last week that, according to Jordanian and Syrian regime sources, Saudi Arabia has been arming the ISIS and that the Saudis are a driving force in supporting the al-Qaida-linked group.

WND further reported that, according to a Shiite source in contact with a high official in the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, the Obama administration has been aware for two months that the al-Qaida-inspired group that has taken over two Iraqi cities and now is threatening Baghdad also was training fighters in Turkey.

The source told WND that at least one of the training camps of the group Iraq of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Syria, the ISIS, is in the vicinity of Incirlik Air Base near Adana, Turkey, where American personnel and equipment are located.

He called Obama “an accomplice” in the attacks that are threatening the Maliki government the U.S. helped establish through the Iraq war.

The source said that after training in Turkey, thousands of ISIS fighters went to Iraq by way of Syria to join the effort to establish an Islamic caliphate subject to strict Islamic law, or Shariah.

How did his name change from Abu Bakr al Bagdadhi to Ibrahim?

Just like the Christian pope takes a new new name after his coronation.

Not make YOU proud, Chinese Dragon. I mean the Muslims. See, Caliph Ibrahim is going to waste a whole lot of infidels. He's going to rid the world of more infidels per square meter than all the pretend Caliphs combined. Muslims will cheer (maybe).

The fun part will be when any major non muslim country or countries recognize this caliph Ibrahim as the true leader of all Muslim.

Popular Australian cleric arrives in Syria, joins Islamic State
By BILL ROGGIOJuly 7, 2014

A popular radical Muslim cleric from Australia has joined the newly established Islamic State and traveled to Syria to support the establishment of the caliphate.

Musa Cerantonio, who in the past had renounced his Australian citizenship, announced on his Twitter account that he has "arrived in the land of Khilafah [Caliphate] in Ash-Sham [Syria]!" Cerantonio issued the statement on July 3.

Cerantonio telegraphed his travel to the Middle East. On July 1, Cerantonio announced that he "will be arriving in Ash-Sham very shortly, keep us in your du'a [supplications or prayers], getting ready to travel."

Cerantonio was thought to be hiding in the Philippines since leaving Australia in 2013. The map on the banner of his Twitter page indicates he resided in the southern Philippines, as the island of Mindanao and others are shown. He was likely sheltering with one of several al Qaeda-linked jihadist groups while in the Philippines.

Prior to traveling to Syria, Cerantonio had openly supported the Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham, the name of the Islamic State before it announced the formation of the caliphate on June 29.

Cerantonio traveled to Syria to fulfill the request by the Islamic State for Muslims, especially those with needed skills, to join the caliphate. On July 1, the Islamic State released a statement from Baghdadi in which he "issued 'a special call' to religious workers as well as for 'people with military, administrative, and service expertise, and medical doctors and engineers of all different specializations and fields,'" to come to Iraq and Syria, according to the SITE Intelligence Group.

In the past, Cerantonio served as a propagandist for the group, and dutifully retweeted the group's statements as well as his own supporting the group and its recent advances in Iraq. He has also called for the death of Western leaders.

He praised "the establishment of the Khilafah" and said the formation of the Islamic State "is a glad tiding for all Muslims and brings great joy to us."

"May Allah bless and protect our Imam, our Amir, our Khalifah, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi," he said on July 1, just before he began traveling to Syria.

The Australian cleric "relies on his effective use of social media networks to propagate support for a world-wide jihad against the West and encourage Muslims to join the ISIS in Syria and Iraq," according to the Terrorism Research & Analysis Consortium, or TRAC. He is considered to be a popular figure in jihadist circles.

"A study conducted during early 2014 by the International Centre for the Study of Radicalisation concluded that one in four foreign fighters followed Cerantonio's Twitter account and that his Facebook page was the third-most 'liked' page among jihadists," TRAC continued.

Cerantonio is the third cleric from Australia to travel to Syria to support the jihadist cause. Abu Sulayman al Muhajir, a firebrand cleric while in Australia, is currently a senior sharia (Islamic law) official in the Al Nusrah Front, al Qaeda's official branch in Syria, which is a rival of the Islamic State. Abu Sulayman has been critical of the Islamic State in the past.

Mustapha al Majzoub, a dual Australian and Syrian citizen who resided in Sydney before traveling to Syria, was killed in a rocket attack in Aleppo on Aug. 19, 2012. According to jihadists, Majzoub was known for his efforts to recruit fighters from Australia, and had gone to Syria in June to "join the resistance alongside jihadi Salafis."

Good. At least this guy's putting his money where his mouth is. I wholeheartedly invite all armchair Jihadi's, Shariati's and khilafatists from around the world to join him.

He'll liberate Palestine and break the cross, Inshallah.

I don't know if he will "break" the cross, but he is going to use a whole mess of crosses to punish infidels. Inshallah, indeed .....

Don't worry he'll break the cross, maybe burn it as well, that won't make a any difference though since the religion of the cross is dead anyways, only old dying people in its temples, as for Infidels a bullet inside the skull is more than enough.

.
Interesting that the criticism in this thread hasn't been of the very notion of the Caliphate re-emerging, but rather the form it has taken at the hands of ISIS and al-Baghdadi.

Maybe pan-Islamism isn't dead after all.

.
I don't hate Islam, nor do I hate Muslims. Nonetheless, I think Caliph Ibrahim perfectly represents Islam in the world of 2014. He's gonna make you proud. Wait and see.

so you see these scums as true muslems ... right !?
and trying to make fun of Islam ...

after all ISIS is USA bastard child and their jub is to make fun of Islam and ruin Islam's face in front of world ....
