The identity of that lone wolf maniac that did those two shootings that killed 2 people in total is not known yet. Shouting Allahu Akbar (which every terrorist across the planet does) does not necessarily mean that you are an Arab. Besides Arabic is in the top 5 of most spoken languages in the world and millions of non-Arabs speak Arabic. Even if he was a second generation Dane of Arab (for instance Palestinian descent or Iraqi - most Arabs in Denmark are that) then so what? There are 450 million Arabs out there. Here in Denmark, after the attack yesterday, most politicians regardless of ideology, actually managed to make this distinction and not try to score any political brownie points by saying that all Muslims must be deported etc. Meanwhile some Danish civilians (emotional) started writing such bullshitt. Or saying that every single Muslim is a ticking time bomb forgetting that there are 300.000 Muslims in Denmark (vast majority of them valuable members of the Danish society) and such attacks never occurring before.

If you fall into that same trap then you are no different from those radical "Muslims" who when Westerners or Christians do something bad (for instance war crimes in Iraq, Afghanistan etc.) take their hatred out on the average innocent Joe who cannot even locate Afghanistan on a world map.

You think that they would not have killed me long ago (I am a regular Sunni Muslim of the Shafi'i fiqh to be precise) if I even remotely had criticized them? Of course they would. They kill Daesh members who try to defect or who are not obeying orders 100% or who are asking questions. So of course they would do that.

My point is just that there are 10 million Christians in Egypt. Sure, they have their problems but most Egyptians consider them as fellow citizens and as Egyptian as the Muslims. 99% of them are secure too in their daily life's. I am sure that the Egyptian brothers here will confirm this;

They are not the main victims at all. This is a unprecedented attack and is aimed to create unrest between Muslim and Christian Egyptians. 90% of the violence in Egypt (less than 1000 people died last year) occur in Sinai and here 95% of the population like almost everywhere else in Egypt is Sunni Muslim.

It does not stop Ansar Bait al-Maqdis (Daesh affiliate today) from killing anyone that opposes them, Egyptian police and military etc.

Whatever the number then it's totally unacceptable. I do disagree with it not getting publicity though. I recall the news being everywhere on major news stations (international, ME, Arab) and several threads being made about it here on PDF alone.

The thing is that slavery, as bad as it is, is not as bad as being burned alive or getting killed.

Since 1918 (WW1's ending) less than 2 million people have died in the ME due to conflicts in comparison.

I´m not clueless. Look friend. I´m italian. I visited arab countries. Egypt, UAE and i was not impressed. Egypt was nice for the ruins and nature and i enjoyed it. UAE was a soulless super mall. Even 20 years ago 250.000 people died due to the Balkan War and currently you have conflicts too such as in Eastern Ukraine.

Trust me, they feed off conflict. More conflict that involves West means more recruits for them. When people in region see West involved and support for Israel they got confused and come up with conspiracies. So when ISIS ssys this is join war by Arab government, Israel and west people believe it. If west pulled out and kept it internal Arab conflict then there won't be room for confusion. But what I am calling for won't happen. It doesn't seem like they will become weaker as they feed off instability and have too much determination. I think it's too late for world to reverse past century of events in ME which contributed to todayd situation.

Most radicals have little clue about Islam. Why do you think for instance that most people from the West who have joined Daesh (some say up to 2000 people from Europe have joined Daesh) are either very young, turned religious recently or converts?

Many people that have joined Daesh are simply lost people, often young or teenagers, who are searching for a community to be part of, for a meaning with life, to have some power etc. Most often those are people with social, economic, education, psychiatric problem

1. the recent converts from europe ( germany, holland, britain etc ) or usa are the same ones who 40 years ago would have come to india dressed as hippies and smoked hashish in some hindu ashram ( monastery ) and claimed to have achieved nirvana... these are the forever confused... and many of these recent converts are from criminal backgrounds or have issues.

2. just like in india in the last 20 years, many hindu young have taken up religion, many among muslim young have taken up a twisted version of islam, twisted by some older people who themselves confuse cultural elements with islam... these modified young muslims are so confidently fanatical about them being right.

Look I believe that less than 10% of the 1.7 billion Muslims make all the 5 daily prayers. Prayers that in total take less than 45 minutes.

you may have to adjust that number only because of india having the highest number of mosques in the world... 100,000+, according to proud indian government estimates from some years back.

majority of indian muslims are lower class or middle class, and either way many of them live in ghettoes or entire "muslim" areas ( which sometimes have two mosques )... in many other areas in cities like bangalore, the "muslim" middle classes may not live in physically close ghetto but the mosque is furiously rushed to by at least half of that area's "muslim" male population all five times a day.

You probably only visited Dubai. That's not UAE. That's like visiting Bari and saying that you have visited Italy. Anyway I explained to you what position the UAE has in the Arab world.

I suggest that you take a look at that thread. There are 5000 or so photos from all over the Arab world. Of world-famous ancient historical sites, landscapes, cities, villages, mountain ranges, deserts, valleys, forests, tropical areas, lakes, rivers, islands, tropical beaches, wildlife, people, modern and old architecture, dozens of World UNESCO Heritage Sites etc. Plenty of Christian heritage (the oldest that exist) too.

I am not talking about any sects here. I am talking about Islam and Muslims in general.

People who are knowledgeable about Islam and are God-fearing people will not commit such atrocities that have nothing to do with Islam let alone behavior that you can expect of the average person today.
