Although all abrahamic religion stance is against homosexuality.
There is no instruction from prophet regarding homosexual people or punishments for such people.
And caliphs after him had mixed views from extreme punishments to remaining neutral.
In that perspective the only valid argument Muslim scholars put forward is of people of lut.
But lut's story is not about homosexuality. It's about violence, rape and sexual abuse.
So using that to justify it as illegal is wrong.
Plus modern research has evidence homosexuality is partly due to changes in their DNA and not necessarily a fault.
One scholar likes to think of it as a natural occurrence sent by god to control population growth.

Until recently I was conflicted on how I should react if one of my child turned out to be homosexual... as I still see them as human but regarding conservative views of Islam...

Now I figured well, as long as no violence is involved they're just as human as us and should be allowed to choose their partner without cause.

every single content in Bangladeshi TV is vetted by ruling awami league thugs in (DGFI, NSI etc.). There was not a fat chance this drama was let go without ruling awami league consideration from highest level.

By day awami league position is weakening and getting worse. As always ruling awami league needed diversion of public attention. So awami league saw introducing homosexual controversy as a perfect opportunity. US had been most vocal in promoting "homosexual activities" in Bangladesh. Things to notice here is that there had been some invisible gap created between awami league and its master in Delhi. Hasina and her crew is trying to get closer to US and western corner and buy some hedge. This drama broadcasting permission was a litmus test for ruling awami league. By now, ruling awami league put two feet in two boats while trying to grab another one by hand.....desperation getting worse.
