Islamabad--- Updates

If you were going back to Pakistan to retire, would you live in Islamabad or somewhere else? Or is Islamabad (and perhaps Pakistan as a whole) so far “gone” that it’s not even a consideration?

Some people think 1st Gen Pakistani want to come back to retire in Pakistan. Is that the case for you? And if not, why?
A couple of years ago, I seriously considered moving back to Islamabad in the next few years before my retirement. Still, I am unsure if I want to move back to Islamabad/Pakistan under current circumstances. This is just too painful to watch the decent. I wanted to share my education and experience through teaching and consulting, but not anymore.

May you live a long life, Inshallah, so that when this will pass, you can return and live in Islamabad in peace.

Mate! Thanks for the prayers and being optimistic about the future. You are a better person than me.

I am not very hopeful about the condition in our homeland. Society is rotten to its core and most of the people are living in a la la land.

ISLAMABAD: In a landmark development for Pakistan's infrastructure, the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass in Islamabad is on track to be completed in just 35 days — a record for the country.

Part of the signal-free corridor project connecting Islamabad Airport to Murree, the underpass is designed to significantly reduce traffic congestion and improve travel times for both residents and tourists.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the construction site to review progress and issued strict directives to complete the project within the set timeframe, without compromising on quality.

"Speed is important, but quality must not be compromised," the minister emphasised.

Naqvi also instructed officials to ensure smooth traffic flow through alternative routes during construction to minimize public inconvenience. He noted that the signal-free corridor will resolve long-standing traffic issues in Islamabad and facilitate easier access to Murree.

"This initiative will help reduce congestion near Kashmir Chowk and improve the overall traffic system. It will save not only time but also fuel," he added.

Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, briefed the minister on the project's progress. He reported that both structural and road development work are moving swiftly, and expressed confidence in meeting the 35-day completion target.

According to the briefing, the underpass will span 479 meters and feature three traffic lanes.
