Islamabad on high alert

Islamabad is on high alert and I hope we capture or eliminate the attackers before they can strike. Security forces need to be pro-active. They shouldn't react after the terrorists have caused the damage but instead must act before the militants can cause any form of damage.

The alert will be there for few days, what happens after?

Thus far we are reacting to Taliban threat but doing nothing be proactive and eliminating it. It appears that our political leadership is in state of paralysis.

Here is a case where anti-state elements are free to choose their target and damage the State of Pakistan at will. Even yesterday an Army Colonel, Captain and SSP were killed in a terrorist attack in Chilas. But until now we don’t even have a national strategy to combat this menace.

It appears that when it comes to love of Pakistan State and support of Taliban, Pakistan always loses out.

An incident also happened in Balochistan in the morning. Around 40 people were kidnapped, 13 bodies recovered so far. It was an ambush by 200 terrorists.

Well, the night of 27th Ramzan has passed without any event taking place...so at least some reason to be relieved.

Eid, that is when these guys will hit. People all out, shops crowded and you cant tell who from who.
Probably Saddar or Commercial Market as those are easier targets. Karachi is quite likely to be hit as well.

Yes...but I was reading a couple of reports on TV and they said that 27 Ramzan is going to be a target. Kamra attack was also one 27.

@Oscar; Hoping (and praying) that Eid goes off peacefully and happily for all. We hardly need any bad news in any part of the world. Amen.

PESHAWAR: Amid security threats of militant attacks, Army troops were deployed on Tuesday at Central Jail Peshawar, which holds Dr Shakil Afridi and other high profile Taliban inmates, and Haripur jail.

The military sources confirmed that the troops took over the jail security on the request of the civil administration .

The source added that the deployment would not be for a long period and that the troops would be present at the prisons only to strengthen the security cordon.

Official sources said that the army would also take over the security of the central Jail Haripur for which the intelligence agencies have also issued a threat warning following the recent jailbreak in DI Khan.

Other sources said that though security warning was issued for all the jails in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province but Central Jail Peshawar could be the prime target as Dr Shakil Afridi who was convicted of assisting the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in obtaining DNA samples of Osama Bin Laden through a fake vaccination campaign was also held in the said prison.

Moreover the founder chief of the outlawed Tehrik Nifaz Sharia-i-Muhammadi (TNSM), Mualana Sufi Mohammad, the former Taliban spokesman Muslim Khan, and a number of other key commanders belinging to the Swat and Bajaur chapter of the Taliban are also jailed in the Peshawar Central Prison.

The KPK government has already allocated Rs198.200 million for strengthening the Jail secuirty across the province and deployment of army troops is an added support to the security cordon.
