Christianity isn't going to be the majority, this is mainly due to more followers gained by the missionaries by giving food and aid to poorer less educated people. majority of Chinese are atheist agnostic.

Because no one can match the entrepreneurial spirit of the evangelists and how they can market their faith with the backing of the unlimited faith money from the West.

Christianity is already a rage in China - among the Hans, the majority ethnic group while Islam is prevalent only among the minority ethnic groups like Hui and Uighur.

I am a Christian (Catholic) and the more Christian China is the more people like me! There is no conflict between Catholicism and socialism (liberation theology) and there is no conflict between Catholicism and Confucianism.

The government maintains 10 state-run Muslim colleges throughout China and has allowed the emergence of non-governmental Islamic institutes too. Chinese Muslim scholar Ma Ping, director of Ningxia's Hui and Islam Institute, says the government has a standard criterion to manage imams and Islamic students.

"If you want to get a permit to become an imam, you need certification from the government. After you have that, you can go to a mosque and be an imam," said Ma.

Islam used to be quite a threat to China.

China Qing dynasty had to fight quite a few bloody battles to put down the muslim tribes in China's northwest regions due to the fact that those tribes wanted to set up an islam country there.

Even during ROC period, such unrest still existed. Remember the eastern turkistan dream???

Even today, there are muslim separatists that have connections with overseas terrorists networks want to set up an muslim country in China as well although that is just purely a dream.

How is Islam a threat to Chinese culture?
The Hui have been part of Chinese culture for 1000 years and they are fully integrated into China.

It will never reign China since China has no interest in adopting it. Hasn't the past 1300 - 1400 years' history prove that already. China will allow its existence in certain way and great restriction. However, if it ever wanted to dominate, China will not hesitate to put it down promptly.

BTW, it seems that you have a much higher percentage of muslims than China.
