US senator John McCain has said that the ISI, Taliban and Haqqani network have mutual ties.

Addressing a news conference in Afghanistan, McCain said that US troops withdrawal from Afghanistan will weaken the allied forces at the western front.

The senator said that there was a risk in troops withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Senator Lindsey Graham said in a TV interview that the Pakistan Army had to choose between friend and foe. The US is a friend of Pakistan, he added.

So they are planing another war in Pakistan?

.
It seems that the endgame is going to be tricky.. There is more and more noise from the west about Pakistani links with Taliban (bad ones)

. .
Well if ISI has relations with Taliban and Haqqani group what about the news as per which; CIA is having ties (sorry talks) with Taliban. They are secretly talking with them and discussing matters of mutual interests in the region.

What about this relationship?

.
The cards are open now... The declaration of reducing troops mean more drones attack and ground operations Inside Afganistan and Pakistan

Look at the implication of troop reduction:

1.less dependency on pakistan for supply routes
2.more probability of Less no. of causality.
3. more dependency on drones which is proved successful.
4. less burden on ECONOMY

Now US wants to put more pressure on pakistan to take the action in their own hand.. they do not want to get their hand dirty...

we will see an unprecedented rise in Drones attacks... bad news for terrorists

US is the friend foe of Pakistan. A friend when its own needs are there, but most of the time a foe.

Better to have enemies then to have US as a friend.

Did McCain forget the negotiations being done with the same Taliban or how the NATO forces were paying Taliban to not attack them or how much millions of US$ aid is going into the pockets of the Taliban.

Seriously, US officials are the biggest of hypocrites anyone can find on this whole world.

The US breaking down its ties with Pakistan, & operating from Afghanistan against Pakistan will prove disastrous for the US, as the last 2 days have proven:

BBC News - Afghan bus hit by roadside bomb in Nimroz province

BBC News - Afghanistan: Roadside bomb kills returning refugees

Fact is, the US needs Pakistan, whether it likes it or not. Otherwise, the Taliban have already proven that they have complete control all over Afghanistan. The US also needs Pakistan for the endgame in Afghanistan, because the US doesn't know who to talk to in Afghanistan. "Money buys a lot of things, but it can't buy everything, especially the contacts & connections Pakistan has."

These threads appear over and over. Anyone with sense realizes that the ISI has links to these militants. Pakistan can't pick up and move from the region, they must have dialogue with all players in the area. It is the job of the US to make these contacts less attractive, and our vision more so. Even in the depths of WWII, all players kept some contacts. If the ISI didn't have at least some contact with these players, they wouldn't be doing thier job. The question is, which way do you put the majority of your effort? That is the tell.

Once Afghanistan is stable, USA need of Pakistan will minimize... NATO troops are training Afghanistani army to handle Taliban... Once they are trained, NATO will just help Afghan to get rid of Taliban. At the same time US will pressurize Pakistan to Act on Taliban (Inside Pakistan). and US will continue Drones atttack and selective killing (like they did with OBL)

Despite this being the eleventh year since the US has been in Afghanistan, Afghanistan has not been stabilized. In fact, it's become worse than anytime since 2001 for civilians:

Question is, when will Afghanistan stabilize?

Yeah, they are training the ANA, but did anyone think of the amount to be needed to keep such a large army standing and then the costs associated with operations in such hostile terrain, especially looking at the weak situation of their economy?? Once US presence reduces, Taliban are gonna start moving back in full strength to Afghanistan and they are gonna start occupying more of the areas as ANA can't be everywhere or would be able to take on the Taliban on their own, even now majority of Afghanistan is in their control, which makes me wonder how come they are controlling Afghanistan and US blaming Pakistan to be harboring them, as this raises the question that who are the ones who are there in Afghanistan ??

And US drone strikes are not gonna be of much damage to the Taliban especially, yeah in case of AQ they may be able to damage them, but Taliban have much more strength and support in Afghanistan.

Afghanistan has become a very tricky situation and personally i don't see the issue to be solved within this decade or may be for a long long time.
