To be honest, I think Pakistan influence in Afghanistan would not be a bad thing. But perhaps more liberal, like society itself, and friendly with all, including India.

We don't need any influence in Afghanistan, all we want is a peaceful, supportive and friendly Afghanistan, which does not meddles in our affairs or shouts about the border related stuff.

But by looking at the history, right from start of creation of Pakistan when Afghanistan voted against Pakistan's induction in the UN, i believe it would be hard for the Afghans to do.

But i hope, they do realize that and start building their country.

The US can divert it's supply routes all it wants, but once it pulls out of Afghanistan, the land locked country can not function without the Transit trade through Pakistan. But lately, that is not working as well as NATO supplies are increasingly being attacked by the Taliban within afghan.

Let's say even it is true... can u quantify that?? let say 1 bn dollar ... do u think they can survive the war for bloody 10 years when the cost of WOT is around 4.4 trillion dollar... The money they are getting are peanuts in sustaining such a long term war.

These threads appear over and over. Anyone with sense realizes that the ISI has links to these militants. Pakistan can't pick up and move from the region, they must have dialogue with all players in the area. It is the job of the US to make these contacts less attractive, and our vision more so. Even in the depths of WWII, all players kept some contacts. If the ISI didn't have at least some contact with these players, they wouldn't be doing thier job. The question is, which way do you put the majority of your effort? That is the tell.

And that tell (Fact) is..............so far our security forces has more casualites against these Talibans and exterim elements than US in Afghanistan....but still we are considered with no trust.

John McCain is an idiot--pardon the language but it's true, this is the same guy that was critisizing Russia and taking sides with Georgia even though Georgia tried to take and claim Southern Ossetia as Goergian land, even after Georgia sheled civilian area's (confirmed by forign military and civilian observers) and even after Georgia attacked Russian troops. Georgia did the same thing that Sadamm did in Kuait.
