ISI chief Shuja Pasha in US on two-day visit

Tuesday, 14 Apr, 2009 | 02:35 PM PST |

US Chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen and Navy Rear Adm. Scott van Buskirk talk with Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Ashfaq Kayani and Director General ISI Major Gen. Ahmad Shuja Pasha.

AP WASHINGTON: Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen. Shuja Pasha arrived in the United States on a two-day visit for talks on intelligence cooperation, government sources said Tuesday.

The ISI chief is expected to meet senior US officials to discuss ways of enhancing intelligence cooperation between the two countries in the fight against Taliban and al Qaeda militants.

Lt Gen. Shuja Pasha’s visit to the US comes amidst increasing concerns voiced by US generals regarding the ISI’s alleged relationship with militant organisations.

During a recent visit to Pakistan, Admiral Mike Mullen briefed a select group of media personnel on US apprehensions regarding the ISI’s alleged support for certain organisations, conveying a message that the US wants such support to end, DawnNews reported.

However, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi came to the ISI's defence in recent interviews, saying the ISI is fully on board with the government.

ISI is first line of defence for Pakistan. In my view Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen. Shuja Pasha should not go any where. If USA need something they should come and disscuss in Pakistan, first American's should get appointment if Lt Gen. Shuja Pasha has time for meeting.
Pakistan is in difficult situation. One side America backs taliban through CIA, MI6, Mossad & Raw, on other hand America asks pakistan to do more against Taliban. If we make peace aggrements then they bring pressure on Pakistan and derail peace process by drone attacks.
On other side in Balochistan also they are supporting BLA. Our National Government is frightened to ask cross question to American's why it is so. Stop drone attacks, enough is enough.:pakistan:

"Stop drone attacks, [sic] enough is enough."

Stop attacking Afghanistan. Enough is enough.

Karzai should go back to chicken farming in the USA, something he was apparently very successful at...

S2 better say stop attacking on American forces, instead of Afghanistan, we know how much u care for Afghanistan :disagree:

I doubt you'd really know enough about me to guage my true feelings about Afghanistan. Any of you for that matter. Not one soul here has ever read a comment from myself deriding the people or land.

In fact the place utterly fascinates me and has since 1974.:agree:

Thanks.:usflag:

I'm sure 1000s innocent kids being raised without parents lost in Americans 8th year continous bombardment of Afghanistan probably fascinate you as well.

On another note, Pakistani Generals constant travels to the US shows there's something cooking which the public doesn't know. I doesn't seem to be aight...
