Indian honeymoon with US just beginning. Dealing with US is a different ball game altogether as compared to old soviet Union/Russia. The demands are at a higher level and have far reaching effects.

I for one predict that India would have a fall out with US within a decade.

So enjoy all the goodies while they are available -- once you have a better relationship with China (Which India would pretty soon realize to be more fruitful than that of US) US is off the table.

Just my opinion based upon their long term relationship with Russia and others.

US cannot win Afghan war sans Pakistan:

US paper

US cannot win Afghan war sans Pakistan: US paper WASHINGTON: The US cannot win its war in Afghanistan without neighboring Pakistan, according to US-based Wall Street Journal analysis published on Tuesday.

The newspaper article said about President Asif Ali Zardari that he has aided the U.S. military effort in a way his predecessor Pervez Musharraf, supposedly a pro-American strongman, never did.

So, the US was advised in the article to build on a relationship, quietly and incrementally, not to tear down.

The analysis further said, “Equally helpful would be to stop mindlessly demanding that military assistance to Pakistan go toward fighting the Taliban instead of arming against India. The missing ingredient in Pakistan's counterinsurgency effort isn't the right military tool kit, such as night-vision goggles or Apache helicopters. It's the will of the Pakistani general staff to cooperate more fully in the fight. If that cooperation can be secured by selling conventional weapons such as F-15s and M-1 tanks to Pakistan, so much the better.

“(As for India, it has less to fear from a reasonably well-armed, confident Pakistani army that has strong ties to the U.S. than it does from a poorly armed Pakistan that mistrusts the U.S. and continues to consort with jihadists as a way of compensating for its weakness.)

“Finally, the administration ought to understand that Pakistan's reluctance to defeat the Taliban at any price is a mirror image of our own reluctance. The July 2011 "deadline" to begin withdrawing troops was bound to affect Islamabad's calculations, and not for the better. The sooner we junk it, the better the cooperation we'll get.”

F-15 is an Air Superiority Fighter and Pakistan has no need for such Air Craft.

What Pakistan needs from USA:
- Helicopters (Apache, Viper, Cobra, Little Bird, Black Hawks, M1-17)
- IFV (Bradley, Stryker)
- Drones (Predator)
- Artillery

F15 Would be Fantastic Addition provided its the Silent Eagles 50 planes -

Air Superiority Fighters are primarily needed to launch deep attacks into Enemy territory. So a group F-15 will deal with Enemy Planes while the F-16's will hit their target.

But Air Superiority can also be achieved by using Missile Systems like S-300 and deploying them close to the border to neutralize Enemy's air threat.

Pakistan is not that wealthy that it can afford to have multi-role fighters like USA. Pakistan needs highly maneuverable ground attack fighters and missile batteries to provide shield to achieve air dominance over a battlefield.

F-16, J-10 are sufficient.

Pakistan needs gunships, artillery, and plentiful of Missile Batteries.

50 F15 Silent Eagles hmmm would be great addition :smitten:

Are you going to pay the bills for this purchase?. Bhai look at your country and how it is being ravaged by floods and internal strife, not just the talibans but also Imran Khan and Tahir Ul Qadri. How do you think you are going to pay for the silent eagles. Wake up and smoke less of whatever you are smoking. We have to be pragmatic, we cannot afford to buy the silent eagles and maintain them. And no one is coming round to help you financially either. Understand what is going on around you and how things are being manipulated to ensure continuous onslaught in the Mid east and its implications for the muslim world. Know that even if by some miracle you got the silent eagle , when push will come to shove all the spares will be stopped and your silent eagle will be just that. VERY VERY SILENT. Read what Ata Ur Rehman has just said about how much loans are being taken and understand that this money will have to be returned with interest. So where are you going to get the resources to do so. Bhai nangay bhookay logon ko soch samagh kar paisa Kharach karna parta hai.
