Is the revival of Pakistani cinema sustainable?

The lady in this movie is so hot man...I have to definitely see this movie for her.
Pakistani movies are not allowed in India from what i remember even Bin Roye was not allowed

Pakistanis movies are cheap copy of bollywood but with horrible acting, music and story. This revival will not last either because people will say f it and watch bollywood instead with better production values and acting. Majority of people making movies are tv actors and directors.
the revival will depend on how local directors get funds and whether they can offer something different to viewers. Many regional movie industry in India got decimated by bollywood because they could not compete with bollywood by just having similar movies.
This is easier said than done, film financiers want return on investment, and not 'good' cinema. Hence they will push the directors to copy the latest trend in bollywood with the hope that it will pull some crowd.

UK movie industry still struggles, many are produced with help from public fund.

All this respect to artists, sufi culture, we are not vulgar etc are rubbish.

Yes I read both these novels. I actually read almost all of her novels.

You've got some awesome dramas of the time in your list. Hope you will enjoy. If you get a chance watch "digest writer". Ost, story, cast, writer, it was perfect. I did not watch mulaqaat. Meera is the leading actresses? Never gonna watch lol.

and bollywood now is being partially decimated by rubbish action films with stories and stunts directly copied from the regional telugu and tamil cinema. :D

maybe the heavy bollywood influence in "jawaani phir na aani" was not so much the financier's pressure as much as the makers' desire to bring some spice to pakistan cinema, to open it up.

UK movie industry still struggles, many are produced with help from public fund.

well, finance is not everything... in my previous post i spoke of "the last days on mars" for a reason... it was made on a relatively low 7 million pounds budget and still managed to deliver a enjoyable ( and scary ) film, with fine natural acting, superb set design, realistic outdoor vehicles and suits and great cinematography of the landscape and interiors.

film technicians and actors from all of the subcontinent should together make a film like that - a desi mission to mars.

All this respect to artists, sufi culture, we are not vulgar etc are rubbish.

excuses i suppose.

the problem with exceptions is they are rarely the rules... :)
you need money(quite a bit) to produce a movie, even low budget one cannot be made for love of art. If people dont watch good movies then they wont be produced.
BBC makes very good tv programs because their producers dont face as much pressure of finances(funded by license)... they get more chance to experiment and fail... there is no advt pressure too.
If people who want to watch 'good' movies actually bought ticket and watched in theatres, more 'good' movies will be made.

Well i dont think Indian regional movies cannot compete with bollywood..they are same if not better but bollywood has more viewers because of Hindi/Urdu language which most people understand unlike gujrati/banglagi/tamil/malyalam etc. there are many Pakistani Punjabi people who also watch good Punjabi movie come from Indian Punjab. I recently watched angrej which was good punjabi movie so there are two factors one is language and the other is quality. People will watch quality stuffs even if made in different language and people will watch something which they understand even if it lack quality but most important thing is giving easy access to maximum people to watch your stuffs if you want to make money out of it and Bollywood is good in it. Bollywood made certain remake of our songs which were unknown to public and once public heard them in movies then they went for searching original song and realized that original was even better but it did not reach to public

I do not think so...Bin Roye was screened in India if i am not wrong..But again, i did not see it in India rather i saw here in US...

Every Movie need

Somehow..I completely agree with you..I saw some of the Pakistan movies...Although they are good but they are again following most of the things from Bollywood...Now a days, Bollywood in India hardly relates to any regular public..Bollywood always presents a fantasy ...So rather than copying Bollywood, Korean and Iran Movie industry is a good way to follow and start developing the industry
exactly, they need to be original,I wish we start thinking beyond India.
