Just wondering whether Pakistan Tehrik-e-Baqwas' new Finance Minister Abdul Hafeez Shaikh who was also the Finance Minister in President Asif Ali Zardari's Government between 2010-2013 has been purified?

I mean we all know from Pakistan Tehrik-e-Baqwas logic that anything related to Zardari means corruption, so, FM Abdul Hafeez Shaikh must've also indulged in looting of the country back then. But has he now been annointed with PM Imran Khan's famous Holy Water and cleared of all corruption allegations?

Can PTI confirm?

man this guy is just a representative of a international financial institutions, now IMF will obviously give them their desired loan because they have a man in place.... and this is unfortunate, that other than once or twice, our all finance minsters were assigned by these international bodies... as usual this guy will report less to IK and more to those institutions

People were thinking if you make a sheep the leader to wolf pack then all wolves will stop attacking sheep and start eating grass instead. To put a pack of wolves (pakistani nation's current state) only a tiger can rule them, getting things done by hook or by crook. I am saddened to say that Imran will not be the PM of Pakistan much longer and establishment who had bet on the sheep is slowly going in give up mood. Only option Imran has right now to dissolve assemblies and go for new election under new presidential system and ask this sleeping nation to give me power or I do not want to be in power as powerless pawn. If I know Pakistani very well; which i do; Imran will not get pure majority anyway. So, start thinking about Bilawal or Shehbaz as you next PM to save yourself from a heart attack.

Really surprising to see peoples reaction. Few days back every one wanted Asad Umar's head and when he is gone all new bongian from same ppl.

So you want Mariyam or bilwal?

How about put constructive material. Who would you choose? Suggest names and what policy should be implemented.?

I guess many would be cheering for pti ti fail rather than it succeed. But if it succeeds it will be better for everyone but that doesnt dawn on many.

Don't worry about these guys they are just mad the rate of donkey in the open market has gone up and their khota biryanis are more expensive now.

Don't forget these are the same people who still haven't realized how the Sharifs have ruled for 30+ years and look at the state Pakistan is in. They couldn't even make one hospital where they themselves feel comfortable getting admitted.

Paak saaf is not a commodity easily found in Pakistan. Especially in politics. We make do with whoever fits the bill. I don’t know why we expect angels to be leading us? What’s with the lofty standards to which everyone holds PTI. Yeah they messed up by making lofty claims but they are trying to correct the ship. Only problem is now it’s very prominent on national media. Otherwise we’ve been through worse. Especially the past decade of “democracy“.

This thing brother.

I have myself argued and said to those against the current government that if IK succeeds its actually your success. They can't seem to comprehend this basic fact!

Army nay laaker is ko place ker waya hai...technocrat chaaiyeh not someone who likes to play hide and seek with IMF/WB etc especially when your economy is reeling.

Actually I feel sad for Asad as well. Imran Khan strong dislike and statements before elections against IMF, put Asad on a confused state from day first but having said that, it was his department and it was upto him to make correct and timely decisions. I 'd like to see Asad as FM while Qureshi can be replaced as CM of Punjab.

The greatest credential of IK is that he, single handedly, initiated the process, which has lead to, at least, some partial screwing of the Sharif and Zardari families, who have totally destructed the economic fabric of this country, by their reckless corruption and governance. Otherwise these bunches of scoundrels and rascals would still have been ruling this unfortunate country.

The new Finance Minister Sh. Hafeez has very good credentials. He may or may not have done corruption while he was under the Zardari regime: If guilt by association is always the case then just about all of Pakistan's political leadership would be disqualified, including even 'clean' people like PPP's Aitzaz Ahsan or the current Railway Minister Sh. Rasheed. Heck, even Imran Khan once supported General Musharraf.

A little history: According to Ayaz Amir, the corruption rot started in the 1980s. Even Zulfi Bhutto was not shown to be financially corrupt nor his minions in the 1970s were known to be on large scales. But in the 80s, the taste of power under the protected, prolonged, brutal, stagnant rule of General Zia thoroughly corrupted and enriched the Muslim League led by Nawaz Sharif. They amassed so much wealth that when Benazir Bhutto came to power in 1989 she realized that she was facing a well oiled machine--who is old enough here to recall Nawaz Sharif's front page half page paid adverts against her in Jang newspaper every day for a long time?-- and so PPP too went on a mass corruption orgy--elections are won with money in Pakistan or with the Army's backing. [This is what I have culled from Ayaz Amir and other journalists].

I'd give the new Finance Minister a chance. This time he is reporting to an honest person and he knows he will be given a boot for corruption or under-performance. A boat is led by its captain and not by its sailors.
