What's new

Is PAF ranked top among all Muslim Countries Airforces Now?

Yeah, agreed. But my problem is, why muslim world? It's so funny to see such lists, and it makes the situation funnier when I see that the same people whom talk about "brotherhood", are claiming their own superiority at such threads. I once saw a "top muslim navies" thread. Have we ever seen a "Top Orthodox&Catholic Militaries" thread or what? What will happen if we have the so-called "most powerful muslim...bla...bla...bla" but if we can't have a saying over US&EU.

People need feel good factor. They tend to make categories to suit their position and rankings. What else can you expect at pakistan defence? Idea of calling a potential No.1 is enough to make comparison within muslim world.

Anyways, the forum should keep on rolling and such thread helps ;)

I disagree that paf was at technology disadvantage.....

Everyone is fully aware in 1971 paf had middle equipped mirages....where as India despite outnumbering pak by 2 to 1 had inferior technology....paf also had the full backing and training of USA who was ally...

India was fimly the soveit ally and had no USA support....

Today the scenario is reversed India has the techno edge and the nos....over paf....

For me this paf world class pilots is debateble had your no longer considered the USA ally. If anything its the Indians picking up technology and training from the best ie Israel USA and France.....

I am at a loss to understand that why is such a stupid topic got started on a defence related web-site.

What difference does it make if pak does not the best air force in the muslim word----the idiots need to know---pakistan air force is not fighting the muslim world---.

You cant be a a world class air force unless you have the equipment to match..

PAF is lagging behind other muslim powers and only just coming to grips with concepts of BVR and refulling almost a decade after most nations including their rivals india.

There very small budget means their training and reserves are very limited to the bigger richer nations like Turkey & saudi and Egypet even indoneasia has far bigger military budget.

It is impossible to suggest PAF is the best when 80% of their pilots fly in F7 & MIRAGE rose 5 type planes...

These pilots have never handled the Typhoons F15E or SU30MKi of the world

Saudis train and work with up to 1000 technicians from UK & USA ona daily basis.

Turks operate within NATO

The sensible money is on these two mulsim /islamic powers.

For the money you pakistanis invest in your air power you are world class BUT in a real argument the turks/and saudis operate a completely different world.

In the NEAR FUTURE indoneasia will have a superb air force they are planning to spend $ billions on new fighters awacs and training systems.

Hi,

It is not as simple as --- firstly---both the turks and and saudis have no combat experience. So---the question of holding their nerves in case of a real confrontation is an issue....

Secondly----pak has to face an enemy 5 times its size---. It has held its nerve in the past---counter striked and done some serious damage----.

If the turks and saudis have to face the same odds as pak does---they will be having stains in their pants---.

I truly believe that as per the quality of Pilots, PAF is definitely Number One. In terms of Aircrafts and Equipment KSA , Turkey and possibly Egyptian air Force has better aircrafts in large quantities.

You are right,we never fought an enemy 5 times our size.
We fought an enemy 7 times our size.
Still have the stains in my pants O Fearless One!

PAF has shot down Indian, Israeli, and Soviet Union war planes. So no question of experience and quality pilots

Also I think Turkey has more experience in war then us, or any Muslim nation If I am not mistaken, Turkey is the only Muslim country that actively took part in world war 2? I don't think we have seen full fledge war with modern weapons of that scale since then.

I am not talking about those Muslim countries which got colonized, and they were used as foot soldiers to fight for Europeans in world war 2.

LMAO!!! Turkey never participated in WWII, rather it remained neutral.

Technology and training wise TuAF is #1, but PAF has seen the most active combat throughout its existence and even during the time when it was a part of the British Indian Air Force.

So experience and training is on our side but technology is with the Turks.
I'm not talking about Pakistan or SA, but just on behalf of us the Turks. We may have 270+ Fighting Falcons, we may have the most flying hours with F-16 after US, Israel, a Turkish fighter pilot may cost at least 2,000,000$. But it'll not make as top of any list unless we produce&make our own Aircraft&Engine.
Besides air craft and engine, Turkish Defence Industry has come a long way in indigenous weapons R&D and production, way ahead of other Muslim countries.

I'd have to rank Turkey first, followed by Iran in second place, and then Pakistan in terms of indigenous weapons productions.
Turkey was neutral in WWII,untill the end(1945).
In 1945 when the war was allmost over,we declared war on Hitler(under pressure).
Wow, that's new to me, but what a retarded move.

It wasn't Hitler who forcefully annexed Turkish territory or threatened to invade Turkey, rather it was America and Britain's bed buddy, the good ol' Soviet Union and "Uncle Joe" Stalin who did.

Nobody doubts the experience or quality of Pakistani pilots

What move,they had no choice?

First we need to develop a criteria acceptable to majority then the discussion can begin.

Simply having world class fighters does not guarantee any air force is number one. A number of factors are to be considered while rating any air force.

Sir,

And when was that----let's talk about it---
