It's not, they're just buying things up like Foxconn wrt Sharp. The problem in IC & semiconductors is that there's a ton of patents that you can't work around, even if you do these things are too complex for others to copy. Like a modern Intel x86 chip or ARM, for mobiles. There's just no way around it, although Chinese companies, by buying some of these big firms, are learning how to make high value/quality items (like display panels) on their own. But there's no one getting close to the likes of Amazon, Google, Apple, Intel, Samsung, Sony anytime soon.It is changing very fast...just as the earlier case with Japan. From copying to innovation...
