Your inability to handle truth does not make them invalid. Indian history is stuff of legend the world over. Indian "myths" have hardcore scientists being amazed by their uncanny scientific truths. The problem in India is not lack of funds...the problem is a corrupt, leaky system that cannot deliver. You give the same funds that India has at its disposal to the Germans and their governance delivery system to solve the same problems and you'll see the difference.

To put systems in place where government officers work, where politicians actually do something useful will take time.

Throwing a few million to fix potholes may fix a couple of streets for a year or so but the potholes will be back again.

Oh thanks. I have just stated my opinion, that this much of spending on a statue is misplaced priority by the government. If anyone feel differently why should I have a problem? My concern was entirely as an Indian for a fellow Indian who happens to be farmer, women and children died of malnutrition. I never thought I have to deal it with a Marathi-Bengali tangle.

Once in a while locusts descend on healthy fields and crops and set it to ruin. A good farmer learns to deal with locusts. This time around we have many pesticide control techniques to deal with all varieties of locusts and any mutations in future. The world does not live in fear of locusts
