Is it time for Pakistan to seriously start considering an ICBM ?

Exactly...ICBMs are useless for Pakistan...and by the time we make it,US will be far far advanced in ABM technology...

My friend, the cost of ICBM project will be in billions of dollars. Already people say that our defence budget is too high.

Also, ICBM missiles require constant maintenance. It is not like you just make an ICBM and then forget it. The real challenges come afterwards; mid-life extension, upgrades, replacements etc...


China ICBM inventory suggests minimum deterrence doctrine. Here is data from FAS. Also, China can afford to keep and maintain ICBM inventory. You can also see the list of cancelled models. What does that suggests to you?


Brother, I can understand but we should have thought about this long ago. We should have been prepared long ago. We should have been economically stable, independent, and God-fearing nation by now. But we are not.

There will no economy if there is no country.Again ICBM is not gonna make us poor but our inability to get rid of the evils in the society.

But now in the light of events of the past few months is it time for Pakistan to seriously consider an ICBM ?

Granted that it will probably take more than a decade but we have to start now given the volatility of the geopolitical situation.

There are some bullys in the world who only understand the language of power.

So is time for Pakistan to put the missile infrastructure in full gear and produce yet another miracle.

Seconded. If it can be done after India's launch, then its better, but still doing it within five years is important.

Pakistan is not weak due to lack of ICBM technology. Pakistan is weak due its internal weaknesses.

MIRVs are already under-development for Pakistan's next long range Ballistic missile...

But for the SLBM,no development yet...there is no need for now too...but in 10 yrs it will be needed,coz Indian BMD would have much strengthened by then...

How about an SLBM with MIRV

Pakistan Navy has already ordered 6 nuclear capable submarines... hence 2nd strike capability is already is place.... MIRV,SLV are under development and there have been rumours of an ICBM since years..


Also the Ahseeba guy is a 12th grade student.

India is a peace loving country, India will stop making missile of higher range after Agni5. Agni5 will cover Entire China, our objective Done... India want to keep minimum deterrence against Combined China and Pakistan... 11,000KM missile will be waste of resources for India... (I can't comment on pakistan, If they want to shoot America, they can happily go for 11,000KM ICBM)...

After A5, india will focus on Agility, speed, maneuverability , guidance and other aspect of missile...

Incase Surya is made, it will be just Technology demonstrator, It will not get included in inventory...

Not talking about a nuclear capable submarine but a nuclear propulsion submarine that can cover distances without the need for refueling.I don't think you can buy nuclear submarines off the market,only lease them for a period of time for training.

Please illuminate me. Is it Nuclear submarine (Nuclear propulsion) or Submarine capable to carry Nuke tipped Missile??As per my knowledge Pakistan doesn't have SSN, they have just diesel-electric power SSk....
