Is India's Tajikistan airbase a major threat in case of war?

Me thinks that its wrong to look at each and every strategic move made by India as a move against Pakistan. India aspires to be more than just a regional power and perhaps this move is a manifestation of that ambition. Also, as already pointed out it significant from energy security point of view.
I think its unlikely that India would use this base in case of conflict against Pakistan. If 'choking' Pakistan is the aim of GoI, then it would need more than just one air base to do that.

Or maybe it is just an ammunition dump or assembly shop for all the goodies flowing in from Russia.

Any kind of agreement betweenNew dehli and Dushanbe will not matter to Islamabad if they allow there base to be used against Pakistan for any reason Pakistan i am sure will retaliate so why a deal between India and tajikstan will concern pakistan.

Because with a Airforce Base in Tajikistan Indian bombers can reach major Pakistani cities within minutes with much lesser resistance from the west than from the eastern side of Pakistan.

Pakistan will have full right to retaliate against this Base if Indian Fighters attack Pakistan which i highly doubt as India already have too many bases close to the border.

Today they will have base there. Tomorow, they will train them, Day after tomorow they will sell them weopons and may keep check and balance on the power source. It a win win scenario for Indians.

well Cuba more than just allied with the soviets...remember the cuban missile crisis?
turkey has stationed american bombers and missiles for an early strike into the russian heartland...and obviously the saudis have provided the yanks a proper base for a long time.it is happening mate...the chinese have leased the cocco islands from mayanmar to build a naval base close to india...

America was thinking about nuking/attacking Cuba before Soviets backed off so same thing will happen here if India attacks from that base.A couple of babur and few ballistic missiles armed with Conventional warheads will level the base.

Would Tajikistan allow this base to continue functioning in an Indo-Pak war scenario? If yes, wouldn't that mean that an attack on Pak from that base would mean that Tajikistan is also at war with Pak? Perhaps this base is for India trying to be a regional power rather than attack Pak from the east.

Anyways, it wouldn't be wise for Tajikistan to allow its territory to be used for an attack on Pak. That is, if they want to stay on the world map.

You gonna nuke Tajikistan? LOL

You gonna nuke Tajikistan? LOL
Of course not.Why would we want to waste a warhead on Tajikistan when we already have just 50-60 and besides we would not want to kill innocent people of Tajikistan..i guess the only valid target for Pakistan would be the air base.

Newsflash:
Pakistan not = USA.
no way, no how, not here, not now, not for a long long long loooonnng time! How 'bout n'ver!

Though there was immense pressure on Kennedy to nuke SU, he was very pragmatic/practial. He didnt cave in to the pressures and ultimately won over the SU president with his diplomacy. You really need to re-educate yourself with the intricacies and behind the door diplomatic maneuvering of such events.
Anyway do you really think that people in 'real' control in Pakistan are "bonkers" that they will attack a third country in a possible conflict with India, let alone threaten the said country with nukes? You think Tajikistan hasnt considered the strings attached? You consider them that naive?
And do you really think that the Indian airbase is because of Pakistan?
C'mon grow up. Frankly, Pakistan is not a big concern to India anymore, except for terrorist activities originating from your land apparently by "non-state actors" - whatever that means!
Please don't give yourself too much importance/credence, India has far better things to concentrate her energies on than pay attention elsewhere.
Seriously, its for your own betterment that you pull yourselves by your shoestrings and set yourselves onto a path to peace and prosperity instead of getting stuck on a single track - **cough**cough**kashmir**cough***cough- like an old broken Gramophone.
