Both India and Bangladesh are vibrant with colors.. (Never been to Bangladesh though).. If one country that epitomize a single colour it has to be Sri Lanka.. The Emerald isle, Nothing comes close except may be Ireland

Not the whole country but Kerala, NE states come close when it comes to greenery.

Yep.. Been to Kerala.. It's the closest you can get to the island not only in terms of greenery and nature but also the people.. I found Kerala people the most good natured easy going in India

Would love to visit Kashmir, Ladakh and North Eastern states one day.. I've heard much about Shillong

very colorful
india-photos-01-550x412.jpg

Well like i mentioned earlier.. India is a country of extremes you get extreme beauty right along side the worst hell on earth.. Thats what makes it like no other place on the planet, a paradox

But there is great beauty in India sometimes unparalleled.. It's a huge country remember.. Lets not derail the thread mate.. Lets appreciate it

Btw another life long dream of mine.. Seeing a wild snow leopard in Pakistan and visiting stunning places like Murree.. I have been to Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi.. Your capital city is one of the most stunning cities in the region

Are you totally ignorant or what. Indians have been decorating their trucks with paintings and sher-shayris since ages!

Truck art is not the copyright of Pakistanis. Moreover, we dont overdo our buses and trucks with frescos and patterns. Our truck art is colourful but in limits. I have seen Pakistani Truck art. Heck they dont even leave windshield. Driver has to literally peer through a little empty space in glass to drive!

why r u people copying Pakistan's truck art and labelling it under yr own colorful tag?

As these photographs show, colour is everywhere in India.

Holi is a Hindu festival of colours that celebrates life and love. During the festival, people throw coloured powder at each other (pictured)

Colourful trucks, like these in Rajasthan, north India, are a common sight in the country. Their decoration varies according to the region

Rising up to 170 feet in the air, the 14 towers of the Meenakshi Temple are adorned by an impressive display of around 33,000 sculptures - all accentuated with a riot of bright colours

At a sari factory, this woman (above) raises a length of dyed fabric. The materials a generally coloured with natural dye and hung out to dry

This building in Kolkata, east India, is made alive by the colourful saris hung out to dry. They fall in contrast to the blue background

A group of people sit outside in Himachal, north India. Some how, even among all the colours, their individual shades seem to stand out

sorry but all but one of these pictures are colorful true but unpleasant... in dressing, most indians don't know how to color-coordinate their clothes to their features or the clothes themselves... i see males wearing faded plain orange t-shirts ( a garish color ) and females wearing low-quality too-big-flowery saris or bright pink saris with dark blue blouses... the male youth especially is one colorful mess... i have seen college boys going about the area in red polka dot female-type pyjama-type pants.

and in the pictures above, the one of the calcutta building with the hanging clothes - come on, would the british photographer want that "colorful" scene in his own area in his native land?? that scene is really a slum.

one does not color cats.
