Indian will see its hard work pay off soon enough, but this superpower stuff is non-sense. It is an artificial classification, having it and not having doesn't change India's outlook.
Besides superpowerdom comes with its own set of headaches.

New Recruit
India should not aim to be a damn superpower.. This is so dumb.. And if USA is the model of a superpower, India is not even close.
Superpower needs to offer a lot of responsability.
I am sure even by year 2020, China won't official name itself a "Superpower", but rather "a great Socialist state with Chinese characteristic".
Well atleast pakistan doesnt have to buy friendship the way india does
5 billions for cameron and 6 billions for obanma

India will only become a superpower once it lifts 600 million poor people from poverty and has at least 3 aircraft carriers, 20 destroyers, 20 frigates and 20 submarines in its navy. Unless the goals above aren't reached, India can not be classified as a superpower.
I think that instead of caring so much about "super power status" both India and China should keep a low profile (or try) and focus on internal issues such as poverty, widening income gap, and environmental degradation. Such compliments from the West are nothing but empty titles.
