The Indians are upset because China is coming down on their Chicken's Neck.

If Indians are so worried about having a Chicken's Neck, it's something that is easily fixed by a few months of strength training.

Not that it will change things for China anyway, China's conventional rocket artillery has a huge range, we can permanently take out all the road and rail connections in the Chicken's Neck corridor regardless of their preparations. Which will completely isolate the Indian Northeast.

Why withdraw? Both sides should keep standoff. PLAN should patrol more on Indian Ocean, Pakistan is playing their game in Kashmir, BD is busying order new sub... make Indian busy in left, right, and bottom. CPEC will get a more comfortable environment to push forward. India also won't lose, because US finally find India does have balls in their pants, more advanced weapons will be sold to India, Modi Ji and BJP will get votes because Hindus are convinced BJP have balls in their pants. Everybody is happy, why not?

Actually this can be an excuse for us to officially sign a treaty with Pakistan and start up that base in Gwadar. Good for Trump too, more weapons can be sold, it might have been a backdoor deal with US, to push India to buy US arms in return for other concessions. India is just a pawn in this game.

Instead, India will deny that it has any troops in Doklam and that there is no standoff; any information that contradict this will be sold to the public as a "general government communication error". This way, India can save some face while it quietly effects "a reshuffle of border personnel".
