Everything about it is different from u guys. If u guys try to talk like urdu speakers as in pakistnis it doesnt mean hindi urdu ban jaey gee.
U guys make so many mistakes when u speak urdu.
Like some of u say ajj ghaas(grass ) nahi kata...it shud be kati,..similarly many such examples.

Secondly, urdu is very inspired by persian and arabic ....
Like if i have to say dravadinhero ko ban kardo in urdu iwill say:

In hindi u will say.

And if in urdu we want to say he violated forum rules so we will say in urdu:

In hindi:

Dari is cultured and better than hindi but not urdu.

But Hindi and Urdu speakers can understand each other pretty easily? Why? Vocabulary and script doesn't make a language, the basic grammar and syntax does.

Urdu has more loan words from Persian as compared to Hindi, whereas there are more Sanskrit words in Hindi than Urdu and that's the only difference between the two.

Secondly, u guys really need to know ur current day hindi is nothig but a watered down version to mke it as close to urdu as possible because ur bollywood has to reach all the audiences, pakistani, indians...and with actul hindi, pakistanis will barely understand what they mean.

Not to derail an very interesting lingustic thread - i speak 6 languages - my question is as follows:

On the C-band dish i have i receive a lot of asian channels from across entire Asian continent. When I have IRINN, I dont hear any single english word in Farsi, yet when I tuned to Indian channels, they have 70% english/30local language words mixed up to the point of annoyance not to mention the twisted accent. Similarly, i receive Dawn channel and a few others from Pakistan, the same trend. I see the same issue with Moroccan version of arabic with mixture of french.

Is there a problem with these volks that they cannot speak their own languages correctly that they have to mix in English? In our local Tswana, Sotho, Zulu, afrikaans etc, english words and substitution just does not occur. Is there an inferior complex. If you want to speak English, then bloody well speak English, if you speak Hindi or Urdu or Arabic or whatever, then just speak that language. This language pollution is pathetic.

Sorry to derail - I am trying to point out whether it is Urdu or Hindi, I see it completely now polluted with English to the point of complete corruption. If you want to speak a language, speak it in its entirity.

The Balto-Slavic and Indo-Iranian seemed to have split fairly recent, only about 5000 years ago.

Ziva/Siva or Zyvie - is a deity of nature, fertility and change, like Lord Shiva. A similarity with Sanskrit appears in the fact that the word "ZIVA" means (in Sanskrit) "the one who is kind". Another similarity between Shiva and Ziva - goddess Kali and Morena, the sister of Ziva. Both Kali (Hindu goddess) and Morena (Slavic goddess) are goddesses of death. Slavic Morena has its equivalent in the Sanskrit word maraNaanta (coming to death).

Slavic Zorya, resembles Sanskrit “Surya” and is the goddess of morning and evening stars. Her mother Lada, the goddess of harmony, is often accompanied with swans, like Saraswati.

Rudra, which sounds like the word used for the most ancient Slavic god - Rod, who was the primordial god - creator of the universe.

Good point. There is a reason I said Hindi-Urdu in the title. The colloquial form of Hindi is very close to Urdu. This is in part to the interactions between Turkic & Persian empires with India while the other reason being the influence of Bollywood on the masses. True but the reality is that the Bollywood movies are called Hindi movies and not Urdu movies even though for most part they use Urdu words. Also, people in India speak in Urdu most of the time while thinking that they are speaking in Hindi. Hence, I coined this word called Hindi-Urdu.
