Is conversion necessary for social work, asks Rajnath

“Why is it not possible for all religions to prosper without promoting conversions in India? How can a country like India allow changes in its demographic profile and character?” he asked.

Perfect .... implementation must be fast. Vatican clearly know it's time in India is up. In India communal ,inhuman religious organization are perfectly alright but patriotic Hindu national and regional organization are bad . Bloody Adarsh Liberal gang made Cordinal of Christians community looks like President of India. Big time they must be controlled . or rules are same for all we will continue Ghar wapasi

Sir,wearing cross and becoming Christian is no guarantee that you will be saved from hell. Jesus himself says in Bible that if you have helped any random unknown poor or distressed people, you are entitled for heaven.

You can be a Hindu or Muslim but if you implement simple teachings of love and compassion then God is happy with you. This is what Bible teaches. Don't believe in the words of pentecostal church guys or other fringe churches.
i know that even roman catholics are afraid of the pentacoastal, philadelphia ,calvery, joshua, doomsday, churches that they are trying to convert roman catholics to protestants one of my catholic frind just converted to protestant for financial benifits and in a hope to get some job as a pastor in a juggi he will get a handsome amount equal to aan engeeneer in bangalore

i know more about Christians because i live in a christian dominated area with churches all around me and many of my friends are christians

You cant compare SA society thought process with that of developed western society.Like you said religion is a part of SA life. But you should maintain a status quo in certain things.Entire aim of the so called 'Ghar Wapsi' was to stop all types of religious conversion.Majorities and right wings were hopeful for such a law .But minorities espexially some specific community didnt even told a word about ACL law.Reason was quite simple. They were the one that reaps benefits from this.
Though majority of Christians nations have secularism ,they also have official religion. including US.
We dont have any types of official religion. And you cant trust Abrahamic religions blindly.Their reputation in suppressing the minorities is infamous.Creation of Israel and present conflict in ME is the best example. You dont need to go any where .Look what happened in 1921 in Malabar and also during Tipu time.
Now look the issues of Pandits and other minorities in J&K.

All types of religious conversion including Ghar Wapsi should be stop.
Why is this even an issue ?

People convert for all sorts of reasons; monetary incentives, the promise of a better future, philosophical consonance with a belief system or emotional fulfillment in believing in something - I don't think that a State - any state - ought to concern herself with this too much otherwise it may set a dangerous precedent by allowing a given State to appropriate greater rights for herself in the future by taking further rights from the 'individual' and giving it to the 'society' !

Religion will always be part and parcel of a religious society and it would be unreasonable to expect those in power to have a completely unbiased view of things and be emotionally detached from the sensibilities and sensitivities of their belief systems and those of the society as a whole, when governing. But I think it wouldn't be unreasonable to suggest that even when allowing religion or any belief out there (even if it be purely secular) to influence governance, a liberal and not the conservative approach ought to be taken which accommodates various view points and at the very least tries to conform to the golden principle of not doing to others what one does not wish to be done to oneself, most of the time if conforming to it all of the time would be impossible.

I think in Pakistan we made the same mistake by allowing the Orthodoxy a greater say in whatever religious imprint they wanted to have over governance and legislation while at the same time ignoring the Progressive elements from the same religious circles because the former was exponentially more vocal and organized than the latter. Ironically enough most of these Orthodox elements like the Majlis-i-Ahrar who became the champions of an Islamic State - as they envisioned it to be in their parochial view - were ferociously against the creation of Pakistan to begin with.

Religion (like anything else) should have a positive and inclusive impression on a State's culture and values. If it starts having an exclusive, reactionary and divisive effect you end with the states that Pakistan and India find themselves. No wonder as per PEW social hostility involving religion index we have found ourselves in the top 10 most socially hostile states with respect to religion for the past decade.

What do you think @scorpionx ?

Wrong. Mr.Rajnath Singh Sahab. Christians do not do conversion under pretext of social services. Out of millions of poor people served, how many got converted? Christians are just 2 percent. Heck, they don't even produce more than 2 babies to increase their population!

Even in Convent schools, I am yet to see students who converted to Christianity. BJP is just raising this bogeyman of Hinduism in danger to polarise its vote bank and implement the communal agenda of Sangh.
I suggest you to follow some selected evangelist account and lots of youtube video highlighting conversion drive enacted by missionaries. I am proud that Rajnath singh is first minister taking bulls by horns.

If Christian missionaries have failed in converting Hindus, its certainly not for the want of trying. or for want of foreign funding or media presstitution.

If christians have not produced more than 2 babies it is certainly not for the want of christian priests trying and asking them to produce more kids.

If students in convent school do not convert it is certainly not for the want of the missionaries trying either.

You should be ashamed of trying to sweep this issue under the carpet instead of admiring the Home Minister for doing some plain speaking.

1st I have net many Christians & majority of them are patriots & Nationalists what the honorable home minister is trying to say is that the far right Christian Groups who are trying to Destablize us by changing our demographics need to be stopped

Why should I be ashamed for anything ?

You forgot to mention even a single reason for points I raised.

Plain rhetoric won't do.

You are right. Freeze their source of funding. Half of the problem will be sorted.

Ghar wapsi: Anti-conversion law needed, says Kalraj Mishra
Lucknow, Mar 25, 2015, (PTI)

Amdist ongoing row over "ghar wapsi", BJP leader and Union Minister Kalraj Mishra today said an anti-coversion law was needed and every party must support it.
"We have been saying from the beginning that a law should be framed on conversion and every party should support it. I am of the opinion that an effective law should be enacted on this issue," he told PTI in an interview.

Kalraj said he had already favoured framing of such a law.

He also made it clear that the party had nothing to do with the the 'ghar wapsi' programme of VHP.

When did I agree to that? I asked you to educate them about their own religion and then let them decide afterward comparing. If christian missionaries are doing their work without physical intimidating anyone then you can propagate your religion as they do... Why cry foul over it?
Because of this
"Because it is not allowed. Conversion by subterfuge even by peaceful ways is an act of fraud and carries a penalty. Since 1956.
Niyogi Committee Report on Christian Missionary Activities - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia "

I hope missionaries will cooperate with the law of the land...

Sir, please first conform your status as pro, neutral or against toward conversion and missionary, Cause they do not provide that many choices as you have given.... Also thank you for your acceptance to keep poor Hindus' faith (if they want, offcource) in ONLY Hindu majority country....

People should chose their own God. But that relationship is between them and God. Evangelical salesmen should not come in between. Dharma is innate, not an external input.

The percentage 4 to 6 in 500 years ya thats a big growth

Yup, it is a big growth considering it was so unattractive to the Indians that it did not grow at all during the time of the British. The anglos made up majority of the Christians and the Christian population of India was hardly anything. The majority of this 4-6% has happened in the last 20 years. That is bad news for India given how Christianity has been in conflict everywhere it has grown.

A constitution also guarantees Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs the same privileges. Foreign-origin minority religions shouldn't whine then about Ghar Wapsi.

This game is a two-way street and can be played both ways.

Either they accept it or they can simply quit the country and go back.
Please do care to read my posts and then quote me. I am not whining over "Ghar Wapsi" but yes on forced conversions where physical intimidation is involved, Go ahead do as many "ghar wapsis" as you like, this has to be free market... so please stop sobbing over missionaries etc and beat the missionaries in their own game. My best wishes are with you....

Christainity has rapidly increased in North East states that in the last 100-150 years that four North eastern states are having Christian majority and it has been a source of problem for National security because we cant deny the activities which was resulted in terrorism and this is the reason that NGO's have been blacklisted and foreign funding is under scanner of the intelligence agencies. Puralia arms dropping incident and the activities in the camps inside Myanmar , all this has to do with the current situation.
