How is reading a book a shirk
I dont if this poster is a Muslim or Not but he is an Indian. had been posting defending India tooth and nail so far.
Today he came up with this insane thread. His post makes NO sense at all.
Its there: (Rafiq Zakaria, "The Struggle within Islam" Penguin Books,
1988, pp.302)
The guy is reading Gita every morning, thats unlike muslim.
Muslims are surprised to hear that he starts his day by reciting from the Holy Gita. As Muslims, our day starts by offering the fajr (dawn) prayers. It is also strange that Kalam says he gets solace by playing the veena whereas, for Muslims, reading the Koran -- the word of Allah -- gives the greatest solace. At his first press conference after his nomination, Kalam recited verses from the Gita. He could have recited the Quranic verses in which a devout human being thanks Allah for bestowing knowledge and worldly positions on him.
...and we are proud to have such muslims jana ji...
his posts are sensible to us and are equally valuable...
But he is doing a shirk - reading Gita every morning!
Asaduddin Owaisi, 33, leader of the Majlis-e-Ittehaadul Muslimeen and member of the Andhra Pradesh legislature, Hyderabad:
I know many people in Pakistan who are Muslim by name only. They break many cardinal rules of Islam. The only difference with Dr Kalam is that they publicly profess Islam but privately live life like a scoundrel. We Pakistanis cannot pass judgment on Indian Muslims when people in our Islamic Republic cannot pass the same litmus test.

You mean that he is forbidden to read a book every day or every blue moon if he wishes to. Did he tell you why he reads that book or "Grimms fairytales" or "Rubaiyyat of Omar Khayyam" ?
If you are privy to that information, I will take your views a little more seriously.
In that case it means he is doing shirk so he is responsible for his own actions.
In that case i will repeat that so in Indian a Muslim can be given respect only if he/she compromise his faith.
