1.I had posted this elsewhere, but this deserves a thread by itself. The report is now talk of the town and is all over in the internet.
2.Last night I heard Maj Akhtar stating in a TV talk-show that a delegation of 1,200 Indians were housed in Dhaka Cantt. Officially they are here for the Bengal Foundation programme held at Army Stadium.
3. Maj Akhtar is a former MP and FF. We can't just discount this as untrue. If true then these Indians are anything but cultural.
4. Our cultural arena was the first to be infiltrated in the 1960s in the guise of communists/socialists/progressive. The Peelkhana attackers had entered BD during the "milon mela" held at the border. If this group is what Maj Akhtar suggests then they have also used the cultural link to enter the cantt for what misdeed we have to wait and see.
5.If our fears turn out to be true then what possible objectives would they be having?
a.Do with BA what was done to BDR. In the event of a mayhem in BA,external forces will have to be brought in to disarm them.We have to disband BA and re-raise JRB as always desired by Bandhu.
b. This element could also be for securing the ZIA and providing Pathfinders for Bandhu elements to land. Landing to exert their will as in the Maldives or simply to rescue the damsel in distress we don't know. Could be both.
6.Gen Shakeel had poofed off several indications/warnings he and his officers had received. Hope his course-mate IKB doesn't commit the same mistake. The blood of the Peelkhana shaheeds is still fresh. SHW and Tareq are where they were during the Peelkhana massacre - only bolder and more experienced in killings.
7.When the common man is questioned/interrogated when entering Cantt, and when even some retired BD officers are barred from entry,how come 1,200 foreigners - that too Indians are housed in this restricted area?And why?Who gave the permission? Btw,RAW master planner Sujata Singh is due in Dhaka, 04 Dec.
