Iran to conduct photon entanglement test soon: Salehi

Sun Aug 27, 2017 4:37PM

Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi says the country will carry out a photon entanglement test within the next few months.

“If carried out successfully, it will be the first time that a country in West Asia and the Muslim world is conducting this test,” Salehi said in an address to the First National Conference on Quantum Technology in Tehran on Sunday.

He added that Iran had held negotiations with the European Atomic Energy Community (Euratom) for cooperation in the field of quantum technology.

Quantum Code Communications Technology Developed

[2017-03-24]

The scientists of Kim Il Sung University have succeeded in developing a quantum code communications technology, which makes it possible to open up a bright prospect for blocking various kinds of hacking and wiretapping from their sources by taking hold of its core technologies.

The quantum code communications device makes use of such main properties of the quantum world as uncertainty relation and superposition principle, the main principles of quantum physics, to detect wiretapping on the spot, makes new codes and thus disables the hacking to keys.

This cutting-edge code technology requires special knowledge of various sectors including the technologies of quantizing laser beams, splitting and synthesizing light, controlling signals of transceivers and creating and decoding keys, together with the knowledge about the main principles of quantum physics.

All the problems of this new device, ranging from the basic designing of quantum code transmitter and receiver and the designing and making of a control panel to the programs of creating and decoding quantum keys, have been solved by their indigenous efforts and technologies.

The scientists have designed and manufactured an optical circuit for realizing quantum code “BB84 Protocol”, developed a technology of controlling polarization of a photon, realized the distribution of quantum keys and, based on them, established a perfect security communications system. The new device absolutely guarantees the safety of keys even in case of the advent of a quantum computer.

Its inaccuracy rate is only 3.5 %, which is lower than the international allowable error of 10 %. And it can code all communications concerning images, sound and documents.

The Korean-style development of the quantum code communications device in the limelight of the world has made a breakthrough in the work for turning the above-said technology to practical use on a high level.

Official: Iran Attains Satisfactory Position in Microsatellites Industry

Sun Aug 20, 2017 1:53

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian space official underlined that the country has made a lot of progress in specialized satellite projects.

"Iran has a good position in microsatellite production," Head of Iran's National Space Center Manouchehr Manteqi said on Sunday.

He underlined that the issue of microsatellites is not something new in Iran and six universities are currently working on satellite projects.

Manteqi reiterated that small satellites can do the work of larger satellites, and said, "We can get the same result from a network of 24 small satellites weighing 100 kilograms each as compared with a 7.2-ton satellite."

He went on to say that the prospect of the world in the next two decades is moving forward so that people can have personal satellites and control them with their mobile phones.

The Sino-North Korean Mutual Aid and Cooperation Friendship Treaty is a treaty signed on July 11, 1961 between North Korea and the People's Republic of China.

Contents
[1Background

Background[edit]
After the 1961 May 16 Coup, the new South Korean leader Park Chung-hee urged for an increase in military spending and for action to be taken against North Korea. The North Korean leadership feared a South Korean invasion and turned to the Soviet Union and China for support.[1]

Signing[edit]

Treaty signing in Beijing on July 11, 1961
The treaty was signed in Beijing and came into effect on September 10 of the same year.[2][3] Premier of the People's Republic of China Zhou Enlai and Prime Minister of North Korea Kim Il-sung signed for their respective countries.[4] The treaty generally promoted peaceful cooperation in the areas of culture, economics, technology and other social benefits between the two nations.[4] Specifically, Article 2 of the treaty declares the two nations undertake all necessary measures to oppose any country or coalition of countries that might attack either nation.[5]

The treaty remains in effect and automatically renews every 20 years, being renewed in 1981 and 2001.[4][6] The most recent renewal will remain in effect until 2021.[7][6] The right to cancel the Sino-North Korean Treaty can be invoked at specified five-year intervals, and each party must give advance notice of one year.[5]

Kim Il-sung arrived in Beijing in 1961 to sign the treaty just a few days after signing the North Korean-Soviet Mutual Aid and Cooperation Friendship Treaty (朝苏友好合作互助条约).[4] The Soviet treaty however has not been in effect since the 1990s; only a revised "consultation" treaty being re-adopted in 1999.[5]

Iran to launch its first sensor-operational satellite in 2018

Iran will launch its first sensor-operational satellite in 2018, a top official of Iran Space Research Center Hassan Haddadpour said.

Iran acquired the know-how of designing and constructing the satellites inside the country, Haddadpour said.

According to the six development plan, the ‘Soha’ satellite will be launched to promote Iran Space Research Center laboratory.

The official underlined elevation of laboratory capabilities of Iran in a way that it will be able to support bigger satellites weighing 1 tonne. He noted that the Soha satellite will be able to identify things with resolution of 15m and will be deployed in the 36,000-km orbit.

“The Doosti satellite will be launched at first and Nahid-1 Telecommunication Satellite will be launched afterwards,” IRNA cited Haddadpour as saying.

A resolution of 15m at geostationary orbit would require a huge satellite.
The Chinese have something like this but with higher resolution.
So either wrong translation or that guy should be fired instantly.

Spurred on by uproar over satellites, Iran relaunches manned space program

Sep 15, 2017

TEHRAN – Iran’s on-off space program has received a boost from Washington’s irritation at a recent satellite launch by the middle eastern nation, with Tehran dusting off plans for a manned mission, perhaps with Moscow’s assistance.

“Ten skilled pilots are currently undergoing difficult and intensive training so that two of them … can be selected for the space launch,” the head of the science ministry’s aerospace research center, Fathollah Omi, told the state broadcaster last week.

He said the plan was to put humans into suborbital space “in less than eight years.”

“In preliminary talks with Russia’s main space company, we have agreed to cooperate on this important project and we are waiting for their definitive answer.”

Russia has not confirmed the talks, although deputy prime minister Dmitry Rogozin, who oversees its space program, visited Tehran two years ago to discuss potential collaboration.

The Islamic republic’s scientists are also celebrating the fact that two monkeys they fired into space in 2013 have recently given birth to their first baby.

“Aftab and Fargam were two monkeys sent separately into space and returned alive. Researchers are studying the effect of a space trip on their baby,” said Omi.

Iran’s space program has progressed in fits and starts.

It has sent a turtle, mouse and worms into space, and after the successful voyage by the monkeys, then-president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced he would like to be first to go up on an Iranian rocket.

But he was out of office a few months later, and the whole program appeared to have been mothballed earlier this year due to financial constraints.

“It was estimated that putting a man into Earth orbit would cost around $15 billion to $20 billion over 15 years. As a result, the budget cannot be allocated for this project,” the deputy head of Iran’s Space Organization, Mohammad Homayoun Sadr, said in May.

That decision appears to have been reversed in the wake of the international furor over Iran’s testing of a new satellite launch rocket in July.

The 500-kilometer (312-mile) range rocket — named Simorgh after a bird from Persian legend and with the words “We can do it” inscribed on the side — was launched from the newly inaugurated Imam Khomeini Space Centre in Semnan province.

The United States in particular balks at any technological advance that might also benefit Iran’s ballistic missile program, and Washington quickly threatened fresh sanctions.

Omi confirmed the plans for human spaceflights, as well as a new 1,000-km-range satellite-rocket, had followed the “great reaction from the world” to the Simorgh test.

“The Islamic Republic reacts very negatively when it feels it is held back,” said Adnan Tabatabai, an Iran analyst and CEO of Germany’s CARPO think tank.

“Iran’s nuclear program and particularly its research and development became all the more prestigious and important the more that Iran was under pressure by the West to halt it,” he said.

Iran’s four launches of domestically produced satellites since 2009 have all sparked condemnation from the West.

The new Communications Minister Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi said Wednesday that a new satellite, named Doosti, was waiting to be launched.

“You send orbital satellite carrier rockets into space, and all of a sudden you see they have created uproar about it in the world,” said supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in August.

“It is a task which is necessary for every country and which is completely normal and ordinary.”

The controversy appears to have re-energized the space program, which is run by the defense ministry.

“Its leaders like to literally show that the sky is the limit to Iran’s technological progress,” said Tabatabai.

“And that safeguarding revolutionary ideals and religious ideology can be reconciled with modernity.”

Official: Iran to Send Astronaut Robot, Human to Space

Mon Sep 11, 2017 6:6

TEHRAN (FNA)- Head of Iran's Aerospace Research Center Fathollah Ommi announced the country's plans to send an astronaut robot to space before sending a human being in the next 8 years.

"The project to send man to orbit should be implemented by 2025 and before that we will have a project to send human beings to suborbital Earth," Ommi said on Monday.

He also said that Iranian experts will likely send an astronaut robot along with a bio-capsule before a manned mission.

http://en.farsnews.com/newstext.aspx?nn=13960620001596

Commentary

The Soviet Union started by sending dogs into space and the US monkeys before risking a human astronaut. Only China sent a taikobot before the first human crew. Iran should do the same with a Surena class humanoid robot.

Otherwise the alternative seems quite cruel and Iran doesn't need to lower itself to the Western standards.
