Im a little confused about the question. Real as in will it fly someday? or real as in wether that model on display is a flying model?

I want to know more info before I can make a decision. Two important things need to be answered. First, which engine is housed in the Iranian prototype? Second, has Iran managed to develop flight control software for an inherently unstable platform like the RQ-170? If those two elements are taken care of, then i can say the model will fly.

When you look at it, it has no engines. It is only a mock up.
no engine!! are you sure??

fake or real is not the perfect question. the point is that we got 2 questions here.
first : does it exactly has the same parts of american version? well i say no since only US has the original pieces.
second : does it fly ? yes it flies since the parts are real and as they announced we should wait for the first flight test in couple of months.

Looking at the incredible bad paintshop i can assure you that this thing will never fly nor can fly. Look at the intake grid. It has grey paint running upwards at the lawer segments where it is connected with the hull. That tells us that the grid is part of the hull and can´t be seperated. This is a mechanical pun. What you see here is a plastic model...build in bad quality.

Very interesting !

Nice trap ... :)

You made me disappointed @MarkusS

well it is a copy thus a fake by design.

As far as flying it concerned, as you said it will in couple of months, and maybe you can get your answer then. What are the specs on engine btw?

Iran capture a drone and 6 months later they announce that they had made an exact copy of it, get real
