Iranian response to recent developments in Afghanistan

Since it seems certain members strayed away from proper criticism/discussion and ventured into abuse i've decided to recreate the thread as the Iranian statements/actions recently are quite significant in deciding where Iran's stance lies in regards to Afghanistan. I hope that people do not go out sending abuse, your opinion is fine and all however if it starts breaking certain rules then problems do arise.

Also i'd like to point out that Tehran Times is indeed a state newspaper and a government mouthpiece meaning their statements reflect their governments official position.

Here is a bit of Background though regarding Iranian responses:

Iran should investigate them self for their foreign involvement in genociding sunnis in Middle East.
Iran must stop it’s oppression against sunnis of the world especially in Iranian Balochistan and Middle East!

I don’t see anything funny.
It’s time to call out Iran’s hypocrisy and demand them to stop massacring sunnis in Middle East and Balochistan!

Good post.
I'd be very surprised if Pakistan and Iran are going to be on the opposing sides. There had been a lot of discussions between Pakistan and Afghanistan's neighbors in the last few years. BUT if still Pakistan and Iran are going to be not on friendly terms to fight over a miserable country like Afghanistan then it just shows that 3rd world countries 'leadership' is only good for meetings for Chai and Biscuits!

Let's wait and see what's going to happen over the next some days. But I am hopeful there is no major issue. Also, don't forget Indians (and their agents) not just in Afghanistan but in several countries adding to disinformation and creating misunderstandings.
Both Pakistan and Iran have ambitions for central Asia, with Northern alliance being effectively wiped out and announcements of new government in kabul Iran has lost all leverage it once held in Kabul.

Rawalpindi/Islamabad has already decided to revive 90s era CAREC to connect central Asia with Pakistani ports, Afghanistan is central to this project and with Taliban in control of Kabul this project will speed up further. CAREC and CPECs success is central to Pakistans geo-economic pivot. Iran wont like Pakistan having this much influence that itself seeks.

pakistan and iran both are in Chinese club ... yet for the time iran has reservations due to lots of reasons but eventually it will be settled soon .. we should not be panic on every single incident .. this is politics and countries manure different ways ... that doesn't mean everything came to end ........

There is might be some weight in what you are saying. However, Gwadar doesn't negate Chahbahar and vice versa. Iran is already starting to supply fuel to the Taliban govt and so I don't buy some strategic conflict here. There is plenty of trade $$ to go around once peace arrives in the region. All neighbors of Afghanistan know that and know that instinctively.
Also, the Northern Alliance was not much of 'resource' to anyone in the 1990s. The Taliban had reduced them to a tiny sliver of land and if the Taliban had the military resources like they have now then they would have taken whatever was left untaken.

Coming back to the topic-- as I said above, I highly doubt Iran and Pakistan are going to be in strategic tussle over Afghanistan. Whatever the 'gains' from Central Asia trade pale before the price a conflict would bring.

Let's also be clear: The Western media may well be exaggerating the protests going on in Afghanistan. They do that to appeal to the 'in crowd' in their own countries. But Indians are using whatever they can their hands on: Find a dozen Afghans out of Afghanistan then pay them for demonstrations. Fight on Twitter. Exaggerate numbers--you know, the latest protests by women are given a max number of 1000 and of them there were lots of men??

This is Information War and no point in falling for the propaganda. The big players of the region--China and Russia-- have in their interests to have stability in Afghanistan. Iran is part of the region. So is Pakistan.

We should all be very aware of the propaganda wars now that the ground war is lost by India's allies in Afghanistan!

Tehran wouldnt last 4 days when faced with a joint IEA/Pakistan blitz. It would be worse than the fall of Paris in WW2.

Our FO or High ranking General needs to speak out to make this well known. Either with us they can be the best of friends or worse than enemy.

Iranian better read the Jaswant Singh book "A Call to Honour", how the Indians used NA from Tajikistan. Indian admitted we put the Ahmed Shah Masood in hot air, where he can't leave nor can breathe. Plus, Pakistan has nothing to do with Panjhsir attack. I hope sooner or later NA provide any prove where they can show if Pakistan was involved in the fall of the valley.
I had hoped there will be peace in Afghanistan, but unfortunately now UAE, KSA, Qatar, Turkey all jump in for the lion's share. Lucrative contracts and mineral resources. Pakistan backed Turkey for the contract of Kabul airport, but Qatar took the contract, we know the reason and why. So, anyone can imagine if the Taliban are taking any order from Pakistan. All Pakistan wants is peace in Afghanistan nothing else.
Taliban came into power through Qatar Accord. So, Iran should better reach out to Qatar and ask them a copy of the agreement between the US, EU, and Taliban. Pakistan only accommodates the talks.

Iran must remain cautious and vigilant.

Also refrain from using operative words like resistance and martyr.
