Another product unveiled at the exhibition was a homegrown Inertial Navigation System (INS) used for detection and navigation of submarines below the surface, where the conventional GPS system is not applicable.

They are really advanced when it comes to diesel electric submarinesNow heres a rather interesting capability that the swedish submarines have, its the ability to carry 2 smaller torpedoes in each tube.

This would potentially be a good force multiplier for the iranian 120 ton ghadir class boats.

Not necessarily, indeed the whole point of things like wire guidance and especially weapons sch as the new jask 2 powered ashcm dispenser is to increase the range at which enemy vessels can be targeted while making it more difficult for the enemy to detect the point of origin of the launcher. Not really for Iran’s case. In this day and age a sub has to get close for torpedos and once fired in a narrow waterway like the PG, it’s game over for that sub in terms of escaping as it will likely try to get back into Iranian territorial waters for protection.
If you`re limited to only 2 torpedo tubes with no reloads,as in the case of the ghadir class boats, doesnt it make better sense to try to maximize the amount of fire power that you can carry? So more firepower is really not needed for those subs as they are unlikely to be staying at sea for long.
The swedes took their neutrality, western oriented tho it was,and their military capabilities to defend it pretty seriously, they had a very advanced and capable military industrial complex which was even more impressive considering that they were not major military exporters like france or the uk.At the same time tho they had adopted many nato standards which would`ve allowed for a certain degree of interoperability with nato forces should that have ever been required.P.S. who is Sweden going to fight realistically? Russia? Yeah right they would steamroll Sweden in hours. Also funny to see pacifist European countries with pointless shiny toys.
New Recruit
Wow!!
You can see from this earlier version that they`ve since fitted shutters to most of the windows.
