While I condole the dead Afghans, I will not fault the Iranian guards.
Afghan authorities should find out how 300 people without papers crossed over. I do not believe this was a one off case. This must be a continuing case of cat and mouse game of illegal entrants and guards. And I will not accept any body saying they were innocent. Who knows if they were not smugglers among them? And won't the smugglers be armed? And what guarantee the workers themselves may not have been moonlighting as smugglers too? Drug are available aplenty. Arms even more so. The borders are barren lands... Nothing like that between the Punjabs in India and Pakistan.
