The tank survived and kept firing. Firing at a Merkava head on (or any MBT) is a waste of ammo. They have the thickest armor at the front for this exact reason.
Do you think Iranian T-72’s would perform any better?
A Merkava-4 cost 3.5-4M. T-90 is about 4-4.5M.
So M-4 is one of the few western tanks that is cost effective.
The Merkava is the only thing Israel produces that is worth while (besides maybe Spike missile that iran already copied).
I feel like this is an area where an IO optical sensor on the TEL paired with an AI algo can do the positioning and leveling adjustments must faster than a human.

impressive they are still able to launch such long range rockets deep into Israel after weeks of indiscriminate carpet bombing (using >10,000 US bombs on such a tiny area) and a total siege and infinite war crimes
