Couldnt multiple countries invest in this same port?

I agree with you....It is not like Iran does not have the money to develop the port by itself...Rather Iran gave the oppertunity to India to explore it. Now if Indian Gov does not move quickly, it is completely India's fault rather than Iran...Iran has every right to decide what is good for them ....Well, realistically Iran will either develop it all by itself since Iran is not a poor country and is not like Iran is begging for 100 million dollars from India. Or the Chinese will come in and do it. What people don't realize is that the current government of Iran is a one agenda government and it is economy. As current Iranian foreign relation activity shows, most of attention is on East Asia and Europe. Rouhani does not have any margin for screw up or he will be wiped out in the next election next year. And as we all know economy does not run on hopes. He is doing all he can and he wants things done fast. China seems to have responded in kind.
By the way, China is also going to build two nuclear power reactors in Chabahar, which are part of Iran's vision for development of that area as Chabahar would need more electric power when it becomes a fully operational international port.
Last 10 years it was congress in command and so naturally nothing really happened. I hope Modi and Doval do what needs to be done. The stupid bureaucratic delays and sarkari style of functioning will cost us dearly. Other countries do not appreciate the delayed style of working our successive governments have been doing for the last 6 decades. I really hope PM Modi takes these things into his hands directly.
Iran is right; delaying things don't really motivate people.
