Blocking the oil through the straits would only hurt the Chinese and Indian economy and some of US allies(Japan, South Korea, and Singapore). But mostly Iran would just piss off China and other countries that still support it, so rather than blocking the oil and cutting one revenue for the country why not just try some other means to tackle their problem with US.

First you have to find the ships. navigation at sea is not childs play. You would find it better not to blockade the straits but to beat US at their own game. Namely trade! Start barter trading with your biggest importers. In six months US will have a problem maintaining such a deployment of your coast. Blockade and your country is history.
