Some more points:
The Fakkur would give the F-4, Mig-29 and Mirage fleet the chance to become useful interceptors again.
We know that the Fakkur is SARH, the golden strip on the forward cable duct tells us that: This is a receiver for the proximity fuse, working identically to that of the MIM-23B. A ARH missile would not need that and use its active seeker instead.
So to which range can fighter sized radar apertures illuminate a fighter size target? The powerful AWG-9 maybe to 150km but the rest? If upgraded with new radars, maybe 100km due too their smaller size.
So if you are smart you design your new SARH missile, that is to replace Sejil, AIM-7, R-27 and (non-existing) Super 530D, for that range.
What are F-4, Mig-29 and Mirage F.1 worth as interceptors, even if upgraded with new radars? Not much with their original weapons in face of AMRAAM equipped opponents. What are they worth with two Fakkurs? I described above how a medium-range, 80km Fakkur would work in engagements with AMRAAM equipped opponents.
Will the IRIAF upgrade the small fleets of Mig-29 and Mirage for that? Unlikely, but if the reports about new radars for the F-4 fleet are true, then it will certainly get a new weapon, the Fakkur.
It will not be the load of up to 6 AIM-7 like in the past but you will make a 50 year old fighter dangerous again.
