Secretary of Iran's Expediency Council advises the officials of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) against singing the same tune as Zionist regime of Israel and to avoid hasty measures.


Mohsen Rezaei made the remarks on Saturday in reaction to the UAE protesting President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s recent visit to Iranian island of Abu Musa.

“The President’s trip to the Iranian island of Abu Musa to visit Iranian citizens was the right thing to do,” Fars News Agency quoted him as saying.

Rezaei stated that UAE officials appear to be abusing Iran's friendship and brotherhood, adding, “If they think Iran has become weak, [they] are mistaken. Today, Iran is very strong and will crush any [act of] aggression.”

“Emirati officials had better apologize to Iran and not be dragged onto the same path as the Zionists because the region needs tranquility, peace and cooperation. If they have any objections, they can politely convey their objection to the Iranian government via diplomatic channels,” Rezaei said.

we should focus on developing the land that we already have. I am sure Iran has plenty of space in its territory which are swamps, marshland, rainforests and thus, unproductive. It would be far more productive if instead of threatning of war which will cost Billions for Iran, Iran actually concentrates on the development of its own mainland by building infrastructure, housing and businesses on those places. One or two island would not make much difference to Iran, which is a huge country.

I am not saying that the island should be thrown away. But threatening with military is a foolishness. Did UK threaten to "crush Scotland" when Scotland demanded independence? Lesson to learn here.

You misunderstood the situation.Iran did not threaten anybody with war.He just says that we respond to any act of aggression.
We are developing our mainland,step by step,but does that mean we should give up our own soil and give it to another country?what kind of logic is that?

These Islands belonged to Iran before UAE's dad wasnt even a sperm.

And why should we bring up our terroritorial integrity to the courts ? It is obvious as clear weather that these Islands were Iranian and will be Iranian in the future. Just because the Russians and British forced weak Iranian governments to give up lands in the past we do same thing today.

Actually UAE's point of view is that those islands belonged to the Emirate of Sharjah before the unification of the Emirates happened. And so it is part of UAE. Iran invaded it with military one day before the unification to hold the argument that "UAE is a newly established country which can not claim those islands" and quite frankly these are the same argument Israel holds "There were no palestenian state when Israel was founded" and we both agree this claim is false. Also the Iranian claim "these islands historically belonged to Iran from long time past" again Israel holds the same argument over Palestine "these are historically Jewish lands" .
