Iran to donate 100 million dollars to Pakistan

Great humanitatrian gesture by Iran. I have a lot of respect for Iran. I hope money will reach to the needy ones.

I have a question.

Do Pakistanis get some sort of flood tax or something imposed in such emergencies?

In India, we do.

no worries bro. thanks for the post anyway

Yeah, I know. The problem is Iran nowadays suffers from a very malicious western led propaganda campaign to portray a negative image of this great culture. Basically they want to decrease Iran's popularity among Muslim nations and kill this hope among Muslims that they can be sovereign and independent too. That is why I posted this news from Iran, so that I do my part in countering this vicious western campaign against Iran. As you know west wants to keep us slaves for ever. And the greatest slavery is the one which is in the mind. That is why Iran's image is important. As Iqbal said once the mind is free then the chains will fall off automatically. Iran is an example, west wants to kill. As if other slaves look up and see this example, they might free up themselves too.

I admire the way Iran is sticking up for its basic principals. This is a lovely gesture to show this. I just hope that our leaders in Pakistan dont be shameful and this money is actually used on the victims of this disaster and not embezzled.

Me too, :yahoo:

We go around the world begging and call charity "a lovely gesture" as if the Iranian could not have used it for their own peoples. I think we can do with a change of mentality.

That is the other side of the problem. But right now there are really poor people who need help, already more than 200 have died. Ofcourse if some day we develop our economy and infrastructure to the point that we would not need any help and could take care of disasters fully by our own then we would not need to "beg". But right now we are not there and if another nation wants to help those dying people then we should say thanks and get over our pride specially if that other nation is also alot like us and not some colonial imperial power. As for Iranians, yes they could have probably spent it on their own people and perhaps built a 100 kilometer motorway for themselves with this money. After all they are under sanctions. But it is their generosity which they have opted for this. Another point to make is that Iran's per capita GDP is near 12000 dollars while Pakistan's is around 2500 dollars. So Iranians can afford it.

It's a nice gesture on Iran's part.

A failure on Pakistan's part.
