Iran’s national football team has set a new record in FIFA World Cup qualifier matches by playing 12 consecutive matches, 1108 minutes, without conceding a single goal.
Iran’s Thursday match with South Korea, which ended with a 0-0 draw, was the 12th match in a row that the Iranian cheetahs passed with a clean sheet.
The record was praised by the official Twitter account of FIFA World Cup.

Before playing against South Korea in Seoul, Iran had already qualified for 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia. However, the Iranian players sought to show their best and keep their clean sheet record in a match that was very crucial to Koreans.
Iran managed to hold South Korea even though its midfielder Saeid Ezzatollahi received a red card in the middle of the game.

Wonderful milestone. Congrate iran. Love to see you people in semis

Iran's national football team is a way ahead of Asia.

Iran : Argentina, 2014 => 0 : 1 (very close match)

Iran : Germany, 1998 => 0 : 2 (close match)

Iran : USA, 1998 => 2 : 1 (Iran beats US)

Saudi : Germany, 2002 => 0 : 8 !

And that is the problem with this record!
Iran is 24th in FIFA rankings ahead of USA.
Then you go down the list and the next Asian
nation is Japan at 44, Oz at 45 and the SoKo
team at 49th place.

Iran is too strong which slightly lowers the feat.
But hey, still valid for the history books so :tup::tup:.

Great day all, Tay.

Unique world record in history indeed.

If I'm not wrong Iran ranked 16th once in 2007.

Brazil = Saudi :sarcastic::omghaha::omghaha:

Next match will be against Syria, I have no doubt you're going to lose it so badly.

Syria now has two excellent strikers who play in the Saudi League, which both of them has the name of Omar :enjoy:

Omar Alsomah, the top scorer in the Saudi League for 2016 and 2015, he just joined the Syrian Team and Iran's match will be his second one with Syria National Team

Omar Kharbin, he scored 7 goals in 10 matches played with his new Saudi team Al Hilal, he also scored two goals against Qatar in the qualifier matches

Just remember these two guys because they will put an end to your fake record.

UZBEKISTAN - KOREA
IRAN - SYRIA

But its not fair to drag political games to sports :disagree:

Inshallah we'll have full friendly match with Syria.

Due to lack of security in Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq, they play some of their home matches in Tehran stadiums.

Yet (8:0) result [as the worst ever result in history of world cup] is untouched for 12 years. (2002 - 2014) And again (8:0) result is much worse than (7:1).

well sadly i must inform you the record is made and fifa acknowledged it so it won't b ended unless someone break it. and let just say that someone will not be from a country which is named after a family.
