Invading Iraq over fake WMD in 2003?

Why not apply the same standard to North Korea?

According to America, no rogue state can be allowed to ever possess nuclear weapons. Especially not those who have made it clear they intend to use them on America itself.
North Korea already have the bomb, they could use it on the South and try to hit Japan even if they lack the delivery systems to strike continental North America.

In Iraq's case, here's what Tony Blair had said:
‘the assessed intelligence has established beyond doubt that Saddam has continued to produce chemical and biological weapons [and] that he continues in his efforts to develop nuclear weapons.’

big difference there.

.
North Korea bomb is useless , their real power is that they have Seoul as a hostage and that's not with nukes but plain old trusty WW1 Style artillery .
their nuke is not even as powerful as fat-man and I doubt they have a delivery device for that .and even if they have their nukes is gonna do nothing but destroying a city block while their artillery can flatten all of Seoul in one hours

North Korea threatened to nuke AMERICA, not South Korea. So your explanation that America is not intervening in order to protect South Korea is complete BS. They are protecting themselves.

Basic rule of geopolitics - Every country works for their own national interests.

From the way you talk, it's as if South Korea is calling the shots. Sorry, it's America who is the master in that relationship, same as the America-Turkey relationship. America is the one who calls the shots, not the other way around.

I disagree with your post mate. Simply If I were to give examples throughout different periods in history;

Operation Atilla (Cyprus, US urged Turkey not to use US made equipment at 1974. It was rejected either and led Greece to withdraw from NATO alliance's military wing)

The 21th March Missive (The original plan for the US forces during the invasion of Iraq was to advance from Turkish soils inside North Iraq. It was rejected at Turkish parliament)

24-27 June 2015, after two years of ceasefire between the Turkish government and the terrorist group PKK, they killed two police officers at their home when they were sleeping, with silenced weapons, this led to a massive aerial response from. Turkish Air Force. The quotation from a US official:

"A Turkish officer came into the CAOC, and announced that the strike would begin in 10 minutes and he needed all allied jets flying above Iraq to move south of Mosul immediately,” said the military source, describing events that took place in the center, in a secret location in the Middle East. "We were outraged."

"We could not risk having U.S. forces hit by Turkish bombs.”

- US military source

In addition to targeting forces engaged in the fight against ISIS, U.S. officials believed the Turkish military's sudden move raised the risk of friendly-fire casualties.

“We had U.S. Special Forces not far from where the Turks were bombing, training Kurdish Peshmerga fighters," the source said. "We had no idea who the Turkish fighters were, their call signs, what frequencies they were using, their altitude or what they were squawking [to identify the jets on radar].”

Like I said, they have already proven their red lines are meaningless.

So what exactly is there to stop Iran from developing their own nukes in the future? North Korea has proven that America isn't actually going to do anything, even after they tested a hydrogen bomb and promised to wipe America off the face of the Earth.

You forget that N.Korea is actually quite different from Iran. For one Iran has no real military big power backing her like China/Russia do with North Korea(China even has a mutual defence treaty with N.Korea if i'm not mistaking). So the implications of taking on North Korea is different from the implications of taking on Iran.

For example if the U.S/NATO was to take military measures to stop Tehran from developing nukes, then it will be just like the Iraq invasion whereby NO major world power will come to the aid of Iran. By contrast, if the U.S/NATO was to take military measures like during the Korean war, then there is a high chance Russia and China will intervene to prevent the U.S from defeating North Korea and establishing a military presence close to their borders. So why risk a wider war with other major powers for no good reason(N.Korea poses no threat to the U.S anyway, its just a midget compared to the U.S) and waste your resources when you can just sit and watch the status quo which suits U.S interests by the way, since an aggressive N.Korea serves/justifies U.S military interests/presence in Asia pacific, while bringing S.Korea even closer to the U.S and to a lesser extent Japan. So only a foolish/dumb U.S president will ever invade N.Korea, Since the U.S will lose far more than it will gain by doing so. As i always said, an agressive/provocative/paranoid North Korea is the best thing that ever happened to the U.S and it's defence industries. If not which other reason/excuse will the U.S give for flying it's shiny destructive toys like the B-52, Stealth bombers in Koream while stationing tens of thousands of troops in Korea, Japan etc?? :yu:

So you can't compare both countries/situations. We have to always put things into perspective. :secret:

You really believe N.Korea poses any threat to the U.S?? Jesus Christ. :hitwall: It's like saying Iran's 'MIGHTY' military poses a significant threat to the U.S. Don't fall into the trap of some U.S neocons and their defence lobby/establishment who say such things to justify their trillion dollar defence spending from the federal government. .Iran and N.Korea are nowhere near ever posing a military threat to the U.S. not this century.

But it's just like their "red lines" in Syria, the South China sea, the Ukraine. I.e. All meaningless.

Seriously do you ever think befoee you talk? . I see you on these forums you always say things like America didn't protect Georgia or Ukraine etc. First of all Georgia isn't it nato, it had no obligation to support it, it was just training it etc. Secondly again you can't think. If anything nato, Europe/USA gained from what happened to Ukraine, why? Because they have a neighbour of Russia that hates Russia and Russians to the max now. Even the people hate them so much now. So instantly Russia with its own hands created an enemy next door that is so close to them in every way.

North Korea don't have the ability to nuke USA and USA knows this clearly so why should it be stupid to attack it.
