Iran, major powers reach historic nuclear deal

Congratulation to Iran. Finally the Agreement is reached I hope this will bring Prosperity to the region and Defuse the tensions to the large Extent. Now its Better time for Pakistan to Restart Iran Pakistan Gas Pipeline Project as well.

If i remember correctly Shell alone has a debt of bilions of euros.

Oh, I am not talking about old debts and old money of Iran trapped before these latest sanctions. This 100 billion is only for the oil money of Iran trapped in countries around the world from South Korea to India and from Italy to Japan just in these past 5 years. The banks in these countries had a good time with Iran's free money.

The old accounts of Iran wherein Iranian nation's money is trapped are many and separate from this 100 billion. No body even knows about them at least the public since no one mentions them anymore. These are just SOME of them as example:

Billions of Iran's investment (in 70's dollars, equal to maybe tens of billions today) in Eurodif consortium of France

Billions Iran had paid to France to build Darkhovin nuclear power plant and a reprocessing plant.

Billions Iran had paid to Siemens to build Bushehr nuclear power plant and for military hardware. Iran had paid for the development cost of G-Class Mercedes Benz for use of Iranian army but did not receive any vehicle for instance (two reactor each of 1350 MW)

Billions of Sterling Pound (in 70s money, equal to may tens of billions today) which Iran had paid to England to purchase Shir-2 tanks whose even development costs were paid by Iran. These tanks were later renamed Challenger-1 and used by British army (even British courts have ordered a portion of this money to be given back to Iran, but the money is trapped in a British bank)

Billion dollars of Iran which got trapped in investment of Rossing Uranium mine in Namibia.

Billions and billions Iran had paid to US for different stuff, military and non-military such as for Kidd class destroyers, American diesel submarines, Iran had even paid the development costs of F-16 etc etc. The money all disappeared.

These are just some examples.

So on and so forth. Iran's money in the pocket of others has a very long story.

Do Iran have access to get all those payments right now or there are still conditions for it? But anyway once all these money is available and Iran is free to sell oil & gas than she will not need any investor for her development.

No. Not now. The congress has to approve it. If it does not, Obama can veto it. But if Congress votes against it with two third majority then Obama can't do jackshiit and the deal dies because of Americans and their dysfunctional system (not really a bad thing for Iran as all the blame will be on US).

Historically, whenever Congress voted on Iran issues, it has voted around 99%. So lets see what happens.

I see some people moaning about this deal. Not only does Iran still have the latent nuclear capbility, but in 10-15 years, Iran will be free to develop an industrial scale nuclear enrichment program and nobody can do anything about it. 10-15 years will come by very soon.

Our enemies must seriously have sore butts at the moment. Iran now can have access to 150billion dollars and its economy will start to BOOM. They feared Iran under sanctions, just wait and see now

Nope . only 8 years . And we are permitted to develop advanced IR-4 IR-6 IR-8 centrifuges . we can operate 6050 IR-1 centrifuges for now but no extra centrifuges will be destroyed .They will be stored inside Iran for some years and will rejoin other centrifuges after 8 years.

روزهای اولیه مذاکره طرف مقابل به ما میگفت در دوران محدودیت که این دوران امروز 8 سال در این توافق تعیین شده است، ایران فقط 100 سانتریفیوژ داشته باشد. بعد از بحث های فراوان رسیدند به 1000 تا و بعد از مقاومتهای فراوان آخرین حرفی که می گفتند دیگر قابل تغییر نیست 4000 سانتریفیوژ بود و امروز در شرایطی توافق انجام شده است که بیش از 6 هزار سانتریفیوژ که بیش از 5 هزار آن در نطنز و بیش از هزار آن در فردو خواهند بود باقی می مانند و همه سانتریفیوژهای نطنز به غنی سازی ادامه میدهند.

آنها می گفتند دوران محدودیت شما 20 سال بعلاوه 25 سال باشد. بعدها می گفتند 20 سال و 10 سال و گفتند حرف آخر 20 سال است و کوتاه نمی آییم. ولی در مذاکرات روزهای آخر به 8 سال تقلیل یافت.

درباره تحقیق و توسعه می گفتند فقط راجع به IR1 برای ایران امکان پذیر است. حرفی بود مضحک و غیرمعقول. چون این را که داشتیم و تحقیق و توسعه معنایی درباره اش نداشت. بعدها گفتند حداکثر IR2 . توافقی میخواستیم که در روز اجرای توافق تزریق گاز به IR8 آغاز شود و ما امروز به همین دست یافتیم.

راجع به اراک می گفتند راکتور باقی بماند ولی آب سنگین معنا ندارد و خط قرمز قطعی ماست. امروز در شرایطی توافق شده است که در توافق مشترک به صراحت از آب سنگین رآکتور اراک یاد شده است و این راکتور با همان ماهیت آب سنگین با ویژگی هایی که در توافق آمده تکمیل می شود.

نسبت به فردو می گفتند نام فردو بردن هم سخت است و شنیدنش سخت تر. نه شما بگویید و نه ما می شنویم. بعد گفتند در فردو هیچ سانتریفیوژی نباشد و مرکز تحقیقات ایزوتوژ خواهد بود. بعد از ماه ها رایزنی گفتند فقط یک آبشار 164 تایی باشد. خلاصه کنم امروز در فردو بیش از هزار سانتریفیوژ استقرار خواهد داشت. بخشی از فردو درباره تحقیق و توسعه درباره ایزوتوژهای پایدار خواهد بود.

درباره تحریمها می گفتند باید ماهها بگذرد و اعتماد یابیم تا به تدریج بعدش تحریمها نه لغو که تعلیق کنیم. اسم لغو را نبرید. در سالهای بعد اگر آژانس گزارش مثبت داد و اعتماد کردیم قدم به قدم لغو شود.

درباره تحریمها می گفتند باید ماهها بگذرد و اعتماد یابیم تا به تدریج بعدش تحریمها نه لغو که تعلیق کنیم. اسم لغو را نبرید. در سالهای بعد اگر آژانس گزارش مثبت داد و اعتماد کردیم قدم به قدم لغو شود. امروز به ملت شریف ایران اعلام میکنم که طبق این توافق در روز اجرای توافق تمامی تحریمها، حتی تحریمهای تسلیحاتی و موشکی و اشاعه ای هم به صورتی که در قطعنامه بوده لغو خواهد شد. تمام تحریمهای مالی و بانکی و مربوط به بیمه و حمل و نقل و مربوط به پتروشیمی و فلزات گرانبها و تمام تحریمهای اقتصادی به طور کامل لغو و نه تعلیق خواهد شد. حتی تحریم تسلیحاتی هم کنار گذاشته می شود. برای 5 سال نوعی محدودیت و پس از آن لغو می شود. در زمینه اشاعه ای هم کالاهای دومنظوره در کمیته ای مورد بررسی قرار میگرد و نسبت به لغو قطعنامه های سازمان ملل می گفتند قطعنامه ای که اجرا نکردید چطور لغو کنیم؟ لا اقل برای 6 ماه اجرا کنید. طبق توافق امروز در روزهای آینده که در شورای امنیت سازمان ملل به تصویب می رسد تمام 6 قطعنامه قبلی لغو خواهد شد.

همچنین در زمینه اینکه پرونده ایران به طور کامل از شورای امنیت برای همیشه خارج شود می گفتند باید آژانس گزارش دهد و اول 20 سال و بعد 15 سال. امروز بدون در نظر گرفتن آژانس بعد از اجرای توافق 10 سال بعد به طور کامل پرونده در شورای امنیت نخواهد بود.

Even 5 years of this deal will greatly lead to a huge boost in Iranian GDP. This is a good deal. Not a perfect one, but a good one.

That's true to some extend regarding Saddam and Qaddafi .

Obama is not the man to do that , But when he is gone this whole deal can be shattered in a day even though the west can make a war for us in Syria as well .

I'm just sad about the way Iranians have been played in history and this game will continue ...

All of these money blocking stuff happened under Ahmadinejad administration.

Yes, this 100-150 billion dollars were blocked during Ahmadinejad's time.

But the examples, I gave were blocked right after the revolution. That is now 36 years, others having fun with Iran's money. Most of it, I guess is actually gone now. I mean they are not going to give back Iran's money. As time passes, the money changes hand so many times that no body can track who took it.

And it is even more than that. Iran owns alot of other things like the natural gas field in North Sea shared with BP. High rise buildings in New York. Shiit there, Shiit everywhere. Its just, Iran can not get them back. For all practical purposes, they are all gone.

People dont see the bigger picture here,why the hell would the US go against Israels wishes.

It is indeed naive to think that the situation will change overnight but it is more naive to think the current situation will not change in the coming years.
