Iran, China sign 25-year cooperation agreement

Ex. Sell Iran J-31 and we sell Taiwan F-35 and establish a base of operations (just an hypothetical example)

F-35 doesn't have the range to strike Kashgar airbase from Taiwan. On the other hand, H-6 bombers at Kashgar airbase can strike Taiwan's airbases. F-35 don't do any good for Taiwan.

China wouldn’t even turn over ToT for the outdated C-802. You think they are going to turn over ToT for their 5th gen fighter? Laughable.

Chinese - Iranian arms relations have been even worse than Russian-Iranian arms relations.

China doesn’t trust Iran and thinks Iran will end up back in Western sphere of influence. Iran doesn’t trust China because it feels that they are not reliable partners and would rather align themselves to whoever pays the most (Arabs).

China already has two “strategic partners” : North Korea and Pakistan.

And US can always use Taiwan to pressure China on Iran.

Considering what happened in Alaska, they may very well take those chances. China under Xi has become more assertive. Taiwanese F-35s or allied F-35s. In the event of a conflict, any fighter or base on Taiwan would probably be considered fair game. Just sayin.

The deal of C802 was back in 1990s.

You have to know that the pro-US faction was extremely strong within China during that time.

Now Xi Jinping has fully consolidated his power in order to weed out those traitors.

Xi also has surpassed Putin as the most hated man for the US, because they know that they are running out of tools and conspirators to stop the China under his leadership.

Putin was never lured away from China before Medvedev was the president. US has always been hostile towards Putin from the beginning when he first became President. Way before Medvedev. Nothing to do with LATER realizing Putin couldn't turned into a pawn.

The US cannot convert Putin's Russia into a pawn, that's why they are trying to get rid of him at any cost.

The changed of outside factor which caused the whole chain of reaction, beside too many thing has already been compromised under the so called "peaceful rise".

I heard these same excuses regarding the Russians. Neither Chinese nor Russia were willing to supply Iran from 2000-2020 for fear of US. Especially when Iran was desperate for arms during the most critical period of possible war (2008-2012).

Only reason Pakistan receives any strategic arms is because it off sets India. If China and India weren’t nuclear rivals, China wouldnt sell Pakistan a pencil.

So I will wait from concrete actions not bluff and words.

US was powerful back then. Now US has turned into Coronamerica, the laughing stock of the world. China and Russia ain't afraid of US anymore.

Why not? China sold JF-17 to Nigeria and Myanmar. China sure as hell can sell JF-17 to Pakistan.

You don’t realize how geopolitics works do you?

Nigeria and Myanmar have zero geopolitical relevance on the world stage and are banana countries. Pull spare parts and those JF-17 are hunks of metal in the hands of those countries.

The only reason Pakistan receives strategic arms from China is to off set India much the same way Syria/Hezbollah receives arms from Iran to off set Israel and the Arabs.

Or else why doesn’t North Korea have JF-17? Most of their military is still stuck in Korean War era arms. The answer is simple: China doesn’t need a military robust NK to offset SK. It just needs to make that NK doesn’t have a “color revolution” and become a Western puppet like Ukraine was stolen from Russian.

The Sino-American relationship has fully entered into the stage of the Thucydides Trap.

You won't need more proof than this.

In exchange, South Korea keeps Japan in check.

:laughcry:

Both South Korea and Japan are under US nuclear umbrella and aligned against China. You just don’t see it. Give it time.

We been hearing about this for last 20 years yet US is still top trading partner for China.

Like I said I’ll wait till I see actual concrete actions from China not some 20 bombers flying in Taiwan airspace.

Trump tried to do that alone, but failed miserably, and Biden will try to convince his allies, and instead of USA vs China, he will make it the entire western world vs China, possibly trying to lure Russia or Iran out of China's orbit.
that is why i said it's not luring. US/NATO with Ukraine keep doing war games near Russia borders that is why Russia is concerned about Donbass. It is about containment of Russia on one hand and the other hand forming QUAD to contain China in SCS. China and Russia are already strategic allies.

Back in 20 years ago, China was very weak and didn't even qualify to be a legit opponent of the US.

The Thucydides Trap can only happen between two peer rivals.

Can you elaborate on what disrupted the “peaceful rise” phase and made the leadership in China feel they had to change to a different approach.
