Iran builds unmanned reconnaissance hand-launched drone

Iranian researchers have built an unmanned reconnaissance drone which needs no runway and is able to be launched with hand.

"Parts of the light drone can be carried in a backpack by military and assembled in the minimum time, "said the Director General of the Iranian company which has built the aircraft, Saeed Shadravanan.

"The hand-launched drone can be assembled at most in two minutes, it is radar-evasive, composite and carries minimum metal."

"The hand-launched drone aircraft is built fully locally and none of its devices need to be provided by other countries," he noted.

"This version of the aircraft can maneuver in different weather conditions and can be promoted, it can also change its form in case of severe damage during operations," Shadravanan continued.

"The hand-launched drone plane is of strategic kind, it can be launched from over boats, car roof and house roof due to its lightness."

It is charged with batteries making it possible for the plane to fly for 45 minutes.

The image shows a RQ-11 Raven used by the US. I wonder when will the Iranian press media ever become more accustomed to the idea that there should not be just any random representative photograph to follow on to a report. Once when posting a story about an Iranian MiG-29, they used an image of a former German one, flag in clear display.

Returning to the main topic, the first time Iran displayed a small hand-launched UAV was at the 2005 Air Show. Since then, there have been 3-4 different articles on their manufacture. I am assuming that this one refers to an actual deployment.
