Iran, Airbus strike deal for 12 A-380, 16 A-350 jets

What is the current split between Airbus/Boeing/all others new orders that Iran has announced in dollar terms?

Please buy Bombardier if possible:D, it will help our Canadian economy. Also anything with PT-6 on it (smaller stuff) helps my company a lot :D.

We could get the local production at least for the A320s especially for such a huge order. Don't forget that that "Ahmadinejad" got the ToT for Siemens trains at the peak of sanctions. As for the ATR I prefer we stuck to the Iran-140 program and got Western engines for them.

if we are going to spend 40 billion of dollars on planes it's better to learn from Brazil, Canada, Russia, China, Japan, and Italy and spend it, at least partially, on our domestic capabilities. I'd rather we don't lower ourselves to the level of UAE,Qatar, and Turkey and run international aerial taxi companies and focus more on core industries like Japan. I mean even Pakistan realized it can do better than merely buying brand new fancy F-16s in dozens from the West and started working on a joint project with China. It's unfortunate that when a Russian-made plane crashes the medias headlines read: a Tupolev, Mig etc. crashed but when a Airbus or a Boeing crash, they just say a passanger plane crashes in bla bla bla.

The ban on Iranians or any individual to enter US, who has travelled to Iran within the last five years is a sanction to keep Iran under check.

US should remove this discriminatory sanction against Iran first before Iran goes on to give commercial benefits to US companies.

Iran isn't the only country. Iraq, Syria, Sudan are also included...and only if you don't have a visa.

Initially when I joined PDF, I used to think that Iran is pretty much developed country reading from our books. Reason good geographical location, petroleum, good educational & scientific base. And most of all Parsi communities which I thought were Europeans. I know it was not fully correct, but when I have bit of knowledge courtesy to PDF, I think how much you all have lost, maybe a generation time in getting things back on track. When Ahemedinezad was there, i used to believe he was taking correct path, but after seeing Mr Rouhani & his government, I have hope your country will emerge as a growing economy in short time. Blind hate & hatred doesn't bring anything good and it is weaker sign to do theatrics. I would like to see Iran becoming a becon of hope(not for shia or Sunni extremists whoever that may be) in somewhat messed up middle East and a bridge between Southeast Asian & oceanic countries and Western world. And highways railways airports and shipping port all will play role in delievering that.Thank you.

If maintaining them is more costly than buying a new one, then I will agree with you. I didn't know that.

But I disagree with you regarding competiting with Emirates and Qatar. You think we buy a new plane and suddenly we beat Emirates and get their market share?
I didnt mean it bro.Dubai, Doha and Istanbul have been turned into transit hubs nowdays. due to lack of direct flights, Iranian passengers use these hubs to travel to their destinations.just take a look at this photo.they have plans for Iranian passengers.

if we want to buy more than 150 Aircraft ( and look like we want to order more aircraft in next year ) , then we should ask for assembly line in Iran ....

Who is more likely to launch a terrorist attack on U.S soil? A person who visited Iran or a person who visited Saudi Arabia (and other U.S allies)? Well, the history and also San Bernardino attack answers my question. Guess you know the answer too, and hence, you know why it's a fascistic law, at least with respect to Iran.

i was expecting iran to go for the super jet which is strange. but the more interesting question is why go for a380's? a350's and dreamliners can both fill the gap. in irans case the a350 is perfect for long haul routes and certainly they don't need a380's. the only way i think the a380 may be used for very high density flights and that's pilgrimages to Saudi Arabia. why have they not covered the medium haul/ high density short range markets the a330/neo or the dreamliner's is perfect for his. also what variant of the a350 is Iran getting?

I wonder when it will our turn to receive those A350

16 airplane out of 777 ordered after 9 year
honestly if they are going to be so slow ,our turn at least will be 30 years later.

at least we have better chance of receiving those A-380

Bombardier develops only regional jets retard - not a replacement for a350/380's long haul routes.

Actually , Iran 140 was supposed to use Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127A turboprops engine , but Canada didn't sell those turboprop engines to us and its original TV3 engine wasn't suitable for Iran semi hot temperature , and IRAN-140 was crushing one after another .
In last year the project was cancelled ....

maybe if Pratt & Whitney offer suitable engine for IRAN-140, then we can revive Iran-140 once again ... and in my opinion this is Canada only chance for entering Iran Aerospace market ....

all of our order were aircraft with more than 100 seats , but we need more aircraft with less than 100 seats for most of our internal flight line , so you can offer these to us ( under license production )

Bombardier_CRJ200
Bombardier_CRJ700_series
Bombardier_Dash_8

but CRJ200 and CRJ700 are using American Engine and so its a great problem ....

The rice over consumption getting to you already?

I said if possible, not in direct conversion from the airbus and boeing orders.

We shouldn't sign the deal , France called for more sanction against us .... but I think Rouhani want to give our money to them for free ....

So more people have to die in airplane crashes because of your Ahmadinejad style emotional thinking?is it how you call it erghe melli? I see a special friend , @Kiarash , also thanked your post.maybe you should stop riding on Air Canada's B777 and enjoy flying with IranAir flying coffins, if that satisfies your nationalistic feelings.

Airbus is a reliable company.they always do all the deliveries regardless of political issues.for instance, they delivered all IranAir's orders that were signed in 1978.delivery was done in 1983, in the middle of war!
............................

Anyway, deal is already finalized today, no assembly line BS, delivery will begin in few monthes.3 A-330s will be delivered by the end of year. these airplanes are only meant to be replacement to our aging fleet. It can be hardly called as expansion.more orders will be issued in comming monthes.deliveries should take place in an even pace.

This deal will help us to avoid foreign airlines taking advantage of our weakness (remember erghe melli !).also tens of thousands of people (including me, perhaps) will find a good job.(again remember erghe melli)

Good, now that our air planes began to be replaced by new ones again our airlines can become competetive and hopefully no such things happen to other Iranian anymore.
