Haha... nawab fag... so much nonesense of "independent foriegn policy" and back to bending over ... to the saudis n americans.. history repeating itself folks.. nothing to see here.
I only try to do justice to my moniker, to observe, even when I know it is futile.
This project has disaster written all over it, with sanctions if it goes ahead, with unaffordably high price of gas tied in to the price of oil when gas prices are falling, and with the lack of money.
And yet we keep talking about it as if it will help solve solve our energy problems. Even if financed, and with a lower price of gas, and with no sanctions, this pipeline cannot alleviate the huger gas shortages looming over us. It can mitigate the situation somewhat even in this ideal conditions.
Don't blame that one man.
This is a result of your policies of many leaders before him.
Now there is so much US involvement in your country that you cannot change that so soon. It will take at least a decade of heavy work in the dozens of fields before you could remove the US yoke off your heads.
BUT
A wise man in your Foreign Affairs would use this as a negotiating card for energy guarantees for Pakistan in return for not trading with Iran.
Something that interests Pakistan.
While at the same time, look into compensating Iran with additional trade rights, or special privileges for Iranian exports.
Both the parties get what they want; Chankyaniti 101.
Its all BS.. read the report prepared by the previous govt.. the sanctions or bans are on "oil products" not gas... armenia, turkey and central asian states are already buying gas from the gas company with which the deal was signed with.
A good time to ignore/leave USA, why would you compromise with such national development?
Well if US doesn't want you to buy regardless of what its other allies buy, it will put pressure on you.
It is called 'Do it because I am telling you to do it-- or else....'.
I don't know about Sharif's new foreign policy but it seems that he is quite pro-US.
US is the cover. its the KSA friends who sent 10s of SUVs for Sharif's election campaign. congrats!
